It was a wonderful holiday with the incredible Aislinn. She is exceptionally hard-working. Her food was delicious, and when Alex came in and made her lemon cake, that was delicious as well. The grandchildren had super lessons with Phil of Mountain Masters. Restaurants – good food at the Lodge, and good takeaway pizzas from Flash Pizza.

Aislinn is wonderful! She is great, fantastic, very good and brilliant with the kids. Her cleaning is unbelievable! The food was all delicious. Pork, beef, tartiflette, lemon drizzle, Sam’s amazing carrot cake – it was all lovely. Great equipment from Snowberry. Brilliant lessons from Oxygene, ok from EV2. Restaurants – the Peau de Vache is very, very good, but also had great meals at Étincelle, Louly, Garage and 3 Capucines.

Aislinn was lovely, and Sam was also very nice. Both were helpful, 10/10. Really enjoyed the food and liked the alternative dishes. Nice to have different diets catered for so effortlessly. Ski hire from Snowberry who weren’t that good. The skis which are advertised as being new and high quality were all absolutely battered. Had a bad lesson with ESF but we contacted John and he helped sort it out.

Very briefly; the chalet was lovely, a really great spot and the sauna was a fab treat. More importantly though Aislinn was absolutely fantastic. She was not daunted at all by 7x obnoxious boys and she did a wonderful job keeping us perfectly under control and in tip-top form. Dinners were delicious and perfectly presented, exactly when we asked for them and often deftly delayed when our apres activities over-ran without a single word of complaint. Breakfasts were great, could not be faulted. The chalet was kept immaculately by Aislinn which I imagine is no mean feat. So finally, a really great holiday and so much of that was down to A doing such a great job. I hope that she did not find us too distasteful!

Aislinn was absolutely fantastic! She worked incredibly hard and was there at all hours of the day, cleaning out the cupboards or whatever. Theo very good too. The food was delicious and the gluten-free options were very well handled. Loved the beef, absolutely everything. The holiday was fantastic as ever. Restaurants – La Baraque not cheap but a great atmosphere and good food, Le Garage was excellent. Ski hire – Snowberry really good.

This is our 5th holiday with YSE, all different chalets in Val, including one year in the hotel. This year (Amadeus) was without a doubt, one of the best. The cooking has gone next level and I applaud your use of the central kitchen as it allows the quality in the dinners to be incredibly palatable. Bravo to the cooking team. An unforeseen win this year was the parking in the building (a first for us at Val) and it will change the way we select chalets moving forward. That was insanely convenient for people arriving with their own wheels. On the slight changes you’ve put in place to absorb Brexit, the tartiflette evening was well received by our whole group. Thanks again to you and the whole team. Amazing holiday and Val continues to be the best pistes in Europe!

Aislinn is wonderful and she kept the chalet spotless. The food was all absolutely delicious, especially the beef, hake and sushi, but it was all amazing! Restaurants – liked the Plage (formerly l’Ouillette) and Datcha.

Aislinn was amazing. Couldn’t have asked for more. Dealt with everything we threw at her so professionally and she works so hard. Catered for all the different dietary requirements, and the food was delicious – and we are fussy eaters!

We had a really good time. Aislinn was brilliant, amazing, very accommodating to any guests’ requests, very efficient and kept the chalet so clean. Food was great, all meals enjoyed, with duck and tartiflette the favourites. House wine very popular. Ski Shops: Killy Sport were helpful, efficient and good value, same for Val Snow. Restaurants: Le Lodge was good, not amazing.

Yasmin is fantastic. Really Impressed. She was very helpful with the baby and everything else we needed help with. Restaurants – went to Barac, really really nice, great beef fillet. Ski Schools – ESF instructors super friendly and really nice. Complete beginner appreciated their approach.

Liv and Lizzie were excellent. Liv is very sweet and great with kids. Good things all round! Tartiflette was delicious and so French! Ski school Evo2: Natalie, Frank, David and Olivia were all amazing! Snowberry hire was really good.

Liv was excellent, she provided a great service and the chalet was always spotless. Really liked the food over all, especially the fish and pork. Loved the chalet but the Wi-Fi is quite slow. Snowberry were very good. Ate out at Le Corniche which was very good but fairly expensive. Lessons with Oxygene and Mountain Masters for off piste, both excellent.

Amadeus is the perfect chalet. It is roomy and modern and incredibly well positioned. You’re right in the middle of town without any noise. We were looked after by Ella and Mima. They are charming and helpful and could not have been better. The food was delicious! We particularly remember the noodle soup and the steak, but everything was lovely. Ella and Mima were both absolutely lovely, they made a real effort all week. They got the balance of chat and hosting just right. Very professional. New cooking system works really well.

Liv then Kate were both amazing. Really lovely. They kept the chalet spotless. The vegan food was amazingly good. Just as good as the standard food. The chalet is lovely and modern, and quiet but in a great location.

Fantastic chalet, great position. Liv and Tammy were both absolutely lovely. Liv is quite amazingly nice and competent, efficiently manages everything brilliantly. She managed to get a phone found that was lost on the aircraft and delivered to the chalet, which we could not believe! The food was very good, excellent. Loved everything, including the hake, the beef cheek, the steak, the pork belly, the fish cake, the tartiflette. Delicious cakes. We appreciated having our own fridge. Ski hire from Precision, which was really very good and very cheap. Fabulous meals in the Fondue Factory and Pizza n Love.

Loved Liv, and the chalet was always spotless, with Liv providing a very attentive service. The chalet, the decor and location were brilliant. Great food especially the pork and beef as well as most of the starters being particularly good. The cakes were lovely all week. Ski hire: intersport, very cheap but quite scratched up and not great skis. Ate at 1789 – good food and fairly reasonable.

We loved Jen, she worked very hard and was very guest-orientated. She maybe needs a little help at times because she’s working so hard but on the other hand seems very capable of doing it all herself! It was a wonderful holiday. Love the food. 10/10 service. The chalet was really comfortable, really enjoyed been in a modern space. All in all great holiday, will come again!

We had a lovely week overall. Jen and Liv were both very charming and made us feel at home in the chalet. Nothing was ever too much to ask for Jen. 5* exemplary service from the very start. The food was also delicious. Some favourites were the steak and katsu curry. All the cakes were presented beautifully, the favourite being the carrot cake and chocolate moose desert. Ate out at La Source. Thought the food was tasty and menu was varied, the staff were friendly and English-speaking. Two in the party were non skiers and found the resort very accommodating – multiple walking tours recommended to them by Jen were very enjoyable. Skis were rented from Matis ski shop, friendly and helpful staff. One of the guests injured her arm on Tuesday morning and wasn’t charged by the shop due to the little use of them.

Precision ski for rental were extremely efficient, easy and provided good quality equipment. The chalet was kept very well all week. Jen was a sweetheart we were all very happy she was hosting us. She coped very well and kept on top of everything. Gluten free and vegetarian needs were extremely well catered for. She was also friendly and communicative before we arrived which was a nice touch. Food overall was excellent. We were surprised it was not made in the chalet. All food looked amazing and was best food chalet ever. Wine was excellent – the Sauvignon was really nice and both reds too. Hake and pork belly were delicious. Restaurant Fondue Factory was amazing and staff were great. No bad food, all quantities were great. Just make it clear all food isn’t cooked in the chalet but food was brilliant.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all your team at YSE for everything they did to help us have the most amazing holiday. As you know, we were a large group and we genuinely couldn’t have asked for anything more. We were pretty awkward during the booking process and you handled all our differing requests very helpfully. The location of the chalets was spot on, they were very clean, well presented, the food was delicious and the chalet staff were all exceptional in accommodating our requests, and just lovely people! Please pass on my gratitude to them all and I will be sure to spread the YSE word among my friends! I hope you have a great season and hopefully we will book again with you another year.

My friends and I had a wonderful holiday in Les Chardons for the last two weeks of April. Great staff, food and room and the amazing amount of snow! It’s always been good late season but this time was exceptional. Thanks so much to your great company for providing a superb service.

Christina and the team are fantastic. Christina is exceptional, very kind, and made everything very comfortable. Chardons has a lovely atmosphere. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. Our first time with YSE and we will be back. Food was excellent, fabulous, impossible to choose favourites.

Everything was great. The staff are lovely and the food was fabulous, particularly the poached eggs, sausages, the cakes and the pork belly. Instructor Craig from Mountain Masters was as good as last year. Snowberry slopeside was much better than Ski Republic last year. Enjoyed meals at the Cascade, Marmots, Empreinte, Garage, Source and Corniche.

The staff were excellent, all very good and seem happy. They were accommodating and helpful, faultless, so friendly and make you feel like you’re a part of a family. Food was excellent as always. Chardons is as good as ever. The Barillon restaurant in La Daille was utterly disappointing, bad service and even worse food. Snowberry ski hire was good, and happy to let us change skis as the snow conditions changed.

An excellent stay. Food was excellent, all of it was great. Staff are friendly and the chalet is very well run. Kept its quality across the years. The cooked breakfast in particular was amazing. The new KP system is great, really nice to see the drivers working hard. Overall a great stay, and was so lovely to be back. Restaurant Les Cinq Freres was good but no better than Chardons. Ski hire – Ski Republic were extremely good, great equipment, very impressive fitting.

Loved the friendly and helpful team, especially Ish, Harrison and Tom, and particularly loved Christina. Chardons has such an incredible atmosphere and the living room area is lovely and cosy. The staff are oh my God, lovely, brilliant and wonderful. The food was amazing, delicious, all great, especially pork, hake, ginger soup, beef, ravioli standing out, but maybe more vegetables or salad with the evening meals. Veggie food was very good. The breakfast sausages were much appreciated. All of the puddings were amazing, particularly the passionfruit. The tartiflette evening, self service, was fantastic. Wine is brilliant, particularly the chablis, the Saint Joseph, and also the blanc de blanc fizz. Ski hire variously from Jean Sports, Snowberry and Freeride, and all were great. Off-piste lessons with Chris and Jerome from Alpine Experience, and excellent lessons from Pierre at Evolution 2. Restaurants – good food at the Empreinte, Étincelle, the 5 Frères, 1789 for cheese fondue, Signal, Marmottes, Alsace, Chez Paolo and Gigi, though that’s a bit expensive and pretentious.

The staff were all lovely and friendly. They made the experience feel so personal and were always helpful and accommodating. The staff really helped make the week. A particular mention for Christina who consistently goes above and beyond. She and Ish make a real effort to ensure everyone is happy where they’re sitting at dinner. The food was delicious. Favourites were the duck, beef cheek and hake. The food has really improved over the last few years. The addition of sausages to the breakfast is great. Ski hire from Snowberry – everyone happy, they were the best fitting ski hire boots I’ve ever worn. Restaurants: La Casa Scara – lovely, good value, La Source – lovely atmosphere, La Corniche and 1789 both very nice, Le Garage great.

The staff at Chardons were faultless. Always receive such a warm welcome from the staff and from Christina, and everyone always has a smile on their face. Ish and Christina were very caring and helpful, eg with sorting out a problem with ski lessons. Christina is so attentive and reads situations so well. Harrison also recommended some good walking routes. It was much appreciated how much time goes to the younger guests. The food is wonderful, absolutely loved the tartiflette night. A particular thank you to Murray for going above and beyond to ensure the special diets were catered for. The bedrooms have improved from previous years with the new mattresses, duvets and new flooring. The living area is lovely and sociable. Used Snowberry for ski hire and they were very good and the boots were comfy. They are more expensive but worth it! Precision ski were good, very happy to swap skis and kit but understaffed so there was a long queue.

A* for all the staff, they were consistently so friendly and interesting, couldn’t have been nicer and they work very hard. Food was all amazing, the absolute highlight of the week! Particularly liked the tartiflette and the canapés which are always very special. The free-flowing wine is a plus. Spectacular wine list. Ski hire – Intersport extremely good, still gave a 20% hire discount once we mentioned we’re with YSE even though we didn’t prebook. Jean Sport had a great off-piste guide (Andreas). Snowberry took great care with boot fitting. Lessons with ESF, good, fab English.

Ski hire: Jean Sport, really good. Ski Republic, helpful and great when we lost skis and helped us find them. Matisse, great and decent price but would have been much cheaper if booked online before the holiday. Evolution 2, went out snowshoeing with Nicholas. Great but unfortunately everyone else in the group was French so left out of lots of conversations. Staff – hardworking and genuine group, they have a great system. Chardons is so well cleaned it still gives it a higher end feel. Christina is amazing and so hardworking. Appreciated the fizzy wine with dinner. Food – exceptional, a really great variety and portion sizes were perfect. Loved the carrot cake, wanted it everyday!! Really liked the hake and duck.

Ski shops – Jean sport, very helpful and pleasant, good service. Ski Republic, great gear and lovely staff who were bending over backwards to help! Ski schools – Alpine Experience (for touring), really good as always. Wayne is amazing and always finds the best spots of snow. Mountain Masters, didn’t have the best experience. Chalet staff were very good, looked after us really well. The best thing about Chardons is the staff! They are so helpful. A very good bunch, all incredibly lovely. Lovely food, especially the cooked breakfast and the afternoon tea, good portion sizes, wonderful cakes. Restaurants – La Taverne, very nice. Garage, big portions for food, great for cocktails. 1789, amazing steaks and lovely atmosphere.

Improved massively since last year, rooms are much smarter. Food is the best ever in a chalet stay, well portioned and loved the beef cheek and hake especially, and the cooked breakfasts. Ate at Le Source, was nice but food was better at Chardons.

The place looks smart following the refurb, and the bathrooms have improved. Best week staying with YSE for many years. The chalet hosts at Chardons were brilliant and did an amazing job of remembering everyone’s names, very attentive and very helpful. Staff made the holiday and are the reason we would come back with YSE. Very big thank you to them. Christina is accommodating, wonderful, attentive, and is very good at picking up on any issues, wants or needs guests may have. The food was lovely, with a good variety and diverse range of dishes. Nice choices/alternatives. Favourites were the duck, beef, fish, sushi and tartiflette, and lemon and carrot cakes. Appreciated the birthday cake (chocolate fudge with honeycomb) that was made on Friday. Restaurants – La Corniche, which Christina recommended, was really nice, enormous portions, and reasonable prices. Poya was also very nice but expensive for what it was. Taverne d’Alsace, mixed. Le Barillon was really good. Lessons with Al from Mountain Masters – Al is the best and a wonderful instructor. Lessons with Evolution2 were really good and couldn’t be faulted.

Jean Sport was perfect. Good children’s lessons with Oxygene. Chalet Staff were amazing, kind, polite and helpful. Christina is wonderful and really goes out of her way to make everyone’s stay special. The food was great, the vegetarians meals were great, lots of help with the gluten free/vegans etc. Lovely breakfasts and cakes.

Very impressed with how friendly and professional all the staff were. Compared with Ski World a few weeks ago there’s a clear difference in the quality of staff employed by YSE and how they are trained and treated. Murray and Christina are fab. Christina is so kind. Alex’s cakes are delicious, much better than normal. Loved all food particularly the beef cheek.

Staff all very helpful. All food universally applauded. Tartiflette and beef cheek very popular. Great to have TNT sports on the TV downstairs. Ski hire: Snowberry very mixed, some staff were really helpful and took their time, others unimpressive and very expensive for the level of service they received. Val Sport – very poor, late on delivery and pickup of skis. Precision ski very good, Killy very good, Inter sport very good. Ski lessons/ski schools: Evolution 2 awful, cut lessons short without offering money back. Supreme Ski excellent, instructors brilliant. Restaurants: La Casa Scara Italian restaurant very popular. Fondue Factory and 1789 also highly rated. Val Pizza good after a night out. Marmottes mountain restaurant good. La Gourmandine – great French food, good for gluten-free as there is gluten free beer on tap.

Everything was marvellous as always. The hotel seems to have been improved quite a lot since last year. Lovely bathroom screens instead of shower curtains and loads of huge improvements like the floors. The staff were absolutely amazing led wonderfully by the lovely Christina. They are amazingly well trained. The food as ever was excellent. The vegetarian and gluten free food also great. Favourites included duck, chicken, fish, beef cheek, pork – the crackling was absolutely lovely. Breakfast eggs beautifully cooked, the best we’ve had, and the cakes were delicious and beautifully decorated. Staff are excellent, and they all get on with and respect each other so it’s a positive environment. Restaurants – Grand Cocor, bad service and bad food. Chez Paolo is good, 1789 is great if you like meat, the Source average, and the Arbre de Vie does very varied and good food, including good raclette. Pilates classes at the swimming pool are very good.

Chardons is fantastic for one group. What a great way to celebrate a birthday and in the perfect position for skiing and going out. Everyone had a great time. The food was amazing all week! Nothing but compliments. Staff were excellent, chalet spotless. Restaurants: Edelweiss, Precision, La Poudreuse – all great. Dinner at La Corniche was great for such a big group.

It was wonderful. The food was lovely. Children’s food and different diet for eg coeliacs were brilliant. Christina is fabulous, and runs a tight ship, and Darcey and the boys are all brilliant. Such a nice team! We particularly enjoyed the Katsu curry, the beef cheek, the hake, the duck, everything in fact. The cakes are delicious, and the canapés were just amazing. We hired from Snowberry, which was as good as ever, and had excellent meals at Chez Nano, the Alsace, the Cave, but nothing as good as at Les Chardons!

Staff thought of everything, super friendly and seemed like a great dynamic. Best team from over the years. Everything was perfect, as ever. The chalet is just what we needed, the staff are amazing. Ollie, Harrison, Oscar and the lovely Darcey – all brilliant. The food was wonderful, top-notch. The guest with different diet felt really spoilt. Everything was great, particularly the hake, the soup, the scrambled eggs – everything! Ate out at the Source, but the food was not in the same league as Les Chardons. Excellent equipment hire from Mattis.

Good as always, all lovely. Ollie and Christina are both stars. Everything is extremely well organised, staff are attentive and strike a good balance between relaxed and professional. 10/10. Food was excellent, starters in particular. Early meal times for young ones was really convenient. Dan’s cooking top notch as always. Hair dryers would be really appreciated and Recco the dog should visit more often. Precision Ski on snow square was bang average, really old boots. Jeansport is convenient but the staff there were not very friendly. Simon, Phil and Phillippe from Mountain Masters were great!

We’re going home to book for next year. The chalet hotel is in the perfect location for everything. The staff are absolutely brilliant. Christina runs the place marvellously. She could not be better. She is very attentive and all of the staff are very engaging and wonderful people. The atmosphere in the chalet is always great. Ollie is a particular star! The food as ever was excellent. Love the sushi, tartiflette, steak, canapés, hake, absolutely everything. We had good meals at La Source, Corniche, 1789. We hired from Mountain Pro shop and Mattis. All very good. The only suggestion anyone could come up with was that with all the fruit we offer it would be nice to have some serrated knives to cut it. Nobody could think of any other possible improvements!

I have just returned from Les Chardons and I wanted to say how well we were looked after on our holiday. The staff were all so helpful and friendly, they made us feel at home. Ollie was a delight and did an amazing job greeting us everyday. Darcey, Harrison and Oscar all treated us very nicely and created a warm atmosphere. The staff are always amazing which is why we keep returning each year. Excellent food as usual, delicious. Pork belly and brownies were are particular favourites. Veggie options were good. Everything was perfect. Christina and her team were better than ever, excellent, very good, so kind and caring, especially Darcey and Ollie. They’re ALL lovely, so friendly and grown-up. The food was excellent, fantastic, really good, even better than last year. Particularly the tartiflette and hake, pork belly and sushi. The food in Chardons is why we keep coming back. One guest was gutted to have missed the legendary brownies. Butter is too hard to spread! The dairy free food was superb. Even had delicious dairy-free cakes! Everyone felt well looked after, and the rooms were cleaned well. Good company in the chalet and the location is ideal.

Good meals out at Barillon, Baraque, Chez René, 5 Caves under Folie and Edelweiss. Triff is going off the boil. The Panoramique is superb. Al from MM is a superb instructor and a lovely bloke. Most hired from Snowberry. Restaurant below Edelweiss, the Rene is amazing, new this year and can’t recommend enough!

Great staff, good location, very friendly atmosphere. Anything we needed they bent over backwards to help. Very relaxed and made meal times very accommodating. Ollie was really great running the front of house. The change in gender balance is lovely with more male staff, and all were very useful through the week. Food was excellent, and amazing, always consistently good, great portion sizes. Very good cakes. Mix of Asian and traditional food was good. Gluten free and dairy free meals very impressive, fresh, and separate canapés. Favourites were the homemade sushi, hake, katsu curry, and steak. House wines overall good. Know what to expect with Chardons accommodation. Compared to the chalets Pic Noir and Perdrix it’s not as comfortable but obviously Chardons is a lot cheaper. Restaurants: Le Source wasn’t great, but Le Garage was. Signal has become over-priced and bad service. 1789-great. Cascades has upped its game recently. Le Moura, really good food. Le Fornet is a great area for skiing as it wasn’t busy. Used Precision to hire skis, friendly in the shop and good value. Ski instructor Ian Beveridge: eccentric but an amazing coach, unorthodox teaching but it completely changed skiing style for the better, on bumps especially.

Christina and Murray both great. Everyone was superb, helpful and engaging. Chardons has a nice relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The location is perfect, the staff are lovely, terrific, very hospitable, particular shout out for Ollie and Oscar, they’re all very nice to talk to. Cristina runs the place brilliantly, and the food is the best ever in a chalet. Particular mention of the hake, the sushi, and the tartiflette with its delicious salad. Steak night getting a lot of love, the cakes too! Only criticism is that the rooms would really benefit from having more hooks! All had a wonderful holiday. Excellent ski hire from Snowberry and Killy. Fab lessons from Rupert and Al at Mountain Masters, and Fred slightly less. Hamish at tdc is great. EV2’s Wilderness evening is fabulous. The Signal is very good, if expensive, and Luge, Fruitière, Trifollet and Ouillette all excellent. Pizza’n’Love do good pizzas but they need to be ordered. Delays can be quite long. For school holiday dates, with so many young teenagers might 7.30 be better for dinner? Murray and Christina could take a vote on the first night perhaps?

We have had an absolutely amazing week staying at Les Chardons. First time staying in a large shared chalet and it was fantastic. Christina and all the staff were wonderful and nothing was too much bother. Food was usual YSE deliciousness. Weather tremendous – more like Easter, and still good snow. No accidents, happy teenagers, happy parents. We’ve missed it over the last few years and hope to re-book for 2024 as soon as we can. I think I might be one of your longest customers, my parents used to treat me to YSE holidays in the 80s when I remember staying late at bananas and dicks T bar and thinking I was cool skiing in jeans. Anyway, we’ve had an absolutely fabulous time, thank you and the whole team. We’re off at tea time today to stay overnight in Geneva to get our extremely early and less unaffordable flight.

I just wanted to write and say what a brilliant holiday we had. Starting with our coach trip with John looking after us and giving us our welcome talk which was brilliant – I wish he would do a regular podcast – I could have listened to him for hours! The team in Les Chardons is amazing – we couldn’t have been looked after any better by the front of house team – Darcy, Ami, Ella and Oscar all headed up by the wonderful Christina – I want to send my daughter to work under Christina when she finishes uni! Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. The food was outstanding – such a treat to have the most delicious suppers every night starting with incredible canapés beforehand and such amazing cakes after skiing every day. We really couldn’t have asked for more and can’t recommend Les Chardons enough – yes it’s basic but it makes up for it in other ways – incredible position, delicious food and wine and the most amazing YSE team looking after everyone. A huge thank you from all of us and look forward to visiting again.

Brilliant week. All the staff are lovely and very good with the kids. Aimee is a star, organised, friendly and confident. Cristina so efficient. The food is the best in Val d’Isère. Pork belly and beef cheek were highlights. Great cakes! Ski hire – Jeansport is convenient and very accommodating for changing hire. Precision seemed pretty ropey, cheapest but serious issues with quality. Snowberry good. Henry from Mountain Masters great for off piste. Evolution 2 (Jaques, Jeremy and Olivia) and ESF (Sylvie) all good for piste skiing. Restaurants – Cinq Frères good and affordable, good with kids, the restaurant under Fornet gondola is great value and has lovely owners. Casa Scara – the Italian by the church great, if a little expensive.

We all thought Sophie was lovely, very hard working and friendly. She cooked all the food beautifully. We had no complaints. We all enjoyed the meals and this was the first time we had the Tartiflette which we all thought was excellent. The system is working very well now with the central kitchen preparing the food. For our night out we went to La Corniche which again was very good. With regards to Chalet Charlotte – we found it cosy and comfortable and the location was excellent particularly for our new skier who could ski to ski school on the nursery slopes. We did think that there should be some updating to the old bathrooms so they come into line with the one that has been done. There is some maintenance that needs to be done over the summer. We used Lyon airport, and Dom Tours for the transfer who were excellent. We’re already looking forward to our return soon.

Anna was so lovely, 10/10. We had a great week. You can tell everyone gets on so well and they run a well-oiled ship. The food was excellent. This was our first time in a catered chalet so we didn’t know what to expect but loved the food so much we have ordered Murray’s cookbook! The menu was nice and varied and great portion sizes. We particularly liked the new pea soup and the Asian coconut soup. Ate out at Signal which was amazing, and the burgers at Edelweiss are fantastic.

We’ve been with YSE every year for at least 20 years! Anna was absolutely charming and lovely. She was also very efficient which is a rare combination! Nothing was too much trouble. Everything was great. Yaz was lovely on her day. The food was very good and Anna presented it perfectly. Loved the hake. Restaurants – it’s a shame the bar de l’Ouillette has changed so much, though the food was very good. Didn’t think much of the Bellevarde, but loved Les Marmottes, Rosie’s, Cinq Frères and the Cave du Vin. Ski hire from Jean Sports, as usual but were surprised to get the same pair of boots as last year, which broke! Off-piste guide Jerome from Alpine Experience is excellent.

We were a bit nervous about travelling with a baby, one pregnant guest and Granny. But it couldn’t have been better. The baby was really well looked after, with lots of different food for him to try. We did loads of different activities with him. Anna was lovely, really helpful and chatty.

We first came to the chalet 31 years ago! We have been beautifully looked after by Phoebe, helped by Lizzie. Phoebe is a lovely girl, cheery, interested, nice to talk to, and her food was very very good. Lizzie supported her brilliantly. The steak was absolutely perfect, which is difficult, we love the coconut soup. The chalet is perfect, and in such a good location, so we’ve come so many times, but next year we’re going to Les Gnellets. There are only boot warmers for five pairs of boots. We enjoyed the Barillon, but not the Etoile des Neiges in Les Brevieres, which has replaced La Sachette, but is nothing special. Benoit from Oxygene is the best instructor yet.

Lizzie was fantastic, the best chalet host we have had for years, with some stiff competition! She was attentive, professional and relaxed. Another triumph for YSE! The new system of meal prep works really well and the menu throughout the whole week was amazing. Ate out at La Casserole, very good. Would be nice to have a TV but not essential. Booking process through YSE was difficult (only negative to whole holiday).

Both Phoebe and Lizzie were great, so friendly and amazing. The chalet was cleaned extremely well especially after the state we left it in most nights. The girls were always on time for work which was very impressive after our Cocos session together – we were impressed. Chalet food was amazing. We didn’t think it was possible to have such nice food come out of a tiny kitchen. The ravioli starter was incredible and the fish last night was brilliant. La Fruitiere was awful would not recommend going there. Only things that could be changed is a bit more variation in the breakfast, such as addition of maybe a hash brown or sausages instead of bacon. The downstairs rooms amd bathroom look a bit tired and could do with some touch ups. Snowberry were very good, Al was a great boot fitter, would recommend. Snowberry isn’t open on Thursday lunch which we found out the hard way.

Phoebe was wonderful and really accommodating. Appreciated having salad with the meal each evening. The menu was great however could do with some more veg/salad options but other than that, really satisfied! All enjoyed the chalet wines as well. One lesson with Oxygene which was Ok, nothing special, not a big fan of the instructor’s style of teaching but fairly reasonably priced. Ate out at Le Garage, enjoyed it a lot. Very enjoyable week.

It’s a lovely chalet in a brilliant position. The upstairs rooms are lovely and the downstairs rooms are fine. Phoebe (and Liv on Phoebe’s day off), both were absolutely brilliant. Phoebe (and Liv on day off), wonderful, superb, warm and friendly without being overbearing, and really good company. Lovely girls. The food was exceptional. A real favourite was the tartiflette. Our only worry was that the nut allergy does not seem to have been communicated to the girls, nor the fact that one of them didn’t eat pork or shellfish. Katie and both Sams were absolutely brilliant. They looked after us really well, and were excellent with the children. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was all amazing, without exception. The cakes were fantastic, particularly the carrot and banana cakes and the brownies. Had a very good ESF instructor called Pascal and a less good one called Emma. Booked equipment from the nearest Intersport and ProsNeige, both of which lost the booking! Restaurants – the Peau de Vache is great. Casserole does good food, but is very noisy.

We stayed in the Comtes de Savoie. It is the first time we’ve stayed with YSE, despite skiing in Val for many years. We will certainly book with you again. The holiday was fab, thank you. Here’s some feedback: The booking process was easy and hassle free. All relevant information is available on your website – including the size of the rooms – so you know exactly what you’re getting. When I rang to book I got through straight away and the person I spoke to was courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. The information we were given prior to arriving was excellent, including directions to the underground car park. We were greeted by Katie and Sam, who were excellent hosts, some of the best we’ve had. Anna ‘filled in’ for days off and she was excellent too. We were certainly well looked after, nothing was a bother for them. The meals were delicious and plentiful. The canapes and fizz were spot on. The chalet was modern and very comfortable. Our room was small, but we knew this when we booked. The chalet is in a great location. The ‘What’s App’ Group that Katie and Sam created at the beginning of the week for all guests was a great idea. Guests were providing useful hints and information to one another. Overall a great holiday, thank you!

We pre-booked and paid for upgraded kit but when we went to collect it on Sunday night, all the good equipment had been hired out on the Saturday so we didn’t get what we paid for.

A wonderful holiday, really love this chalet. Helena and Aidan are lovely and looked after us all very well. Also Theo standing in – they were all amazing and could not have done more. The food was all incredible, and particularly the coconut soup, the pork, the beef, the hake – everything was amazingly good. Ski hire from Precision was excellent. Had a lesson from Federico of Progression, who did not instruct at all, said he had no time to give individual tips, was rude and absolutely horrible! Fortunately Progression came up with Woody, and we learned more in the first hour with him than in two days with Federico. Georgio was also good. Restaurants – really good food at the Casserole, with both a cheese and a beef fondu and also raclette, plus the best burger one of our party has ever eaten!

Wonderful holiday. Aidan, Helena and Izzy were enthusiastic, helpful, brilliant with all the dietary requests, and excellent on someone’s birthday. Talia and Mima are a wonderful team. They were professional but fun, really slick in everything they did, but bubbly and lovely. Mima cooked beautifully and Talia is just the most wonderful host who looks after us, makes us feel welcome and really goes the extra mile to make sure everyone is happy. The best staff we have ever had. It really was quite outstanding. The food was the best we’ve had in 20 years with YSE. It was a cut above past years. We had lots of vegetables, as requested, and the kids‘ food was great. We particularly enjoyed the hake, the beef cheek, all of the canapés, especially the sushi, and we were delighted to discover the Prosecco! It is the best chalet we’ve ever stayed in. It’s modern, roomy, and in a fabulous location, particularly for families. We had skis from Mattis and had lessons with Yuri and Ciara from Oxygene. They were both fabulous. We have had Yuri for years, and he is just brilliant. We loved restaurant food at the cheese room at the Fruitiere and also at the Yule.

Mima and Phoebe were great hosts as was Tammy when she stood in, looked after us really well. It’s a lovely chalet and the girls are great. The food was fantastic, especially the steak, and the person with a different diet was brilliantly looked after. Great wine, especially the local Jacquère. The chalet works really well for a mixed group that don’t know each other, with the sitting and dining room on separate floors. Everyone ended up getting on so well. The food at the Casa Scara was very nice, but the portions were small. Had a great time up at Les Crozets. All in all, a brilliant holiday! Will be back next year!

Mima, Ella and Phoebe couldn’t be better, they were sociable, helpful and genuinely wanted to help out and provide a good service. The food was amazing, with the katsu curry and beef getting a special mention. They also really liked the wine and the cakes. We had a brilliant week and would definitely come back. Hired from Killy Sports, very reasonable and everyone was happy with their equipment. Some of the group went to Evolution2 – not great, with a French instructor who skied too far in front with little input.

Mima and Ella were absolutely lovely. They were very helpful and lots of fun, very efficient very nice. They created an excellent breakfast playlist! The food was delicious, really great – hake, steak, poached eggs at breakfast, chocolate mousse, tartiflette, banana bread, lemon drizzle, and the ‘chicken nuggets!’ Hired equipment from Precision on the road to Dicks T Bar and said equipment wasn’t the best, but it was good enough, and the prices were good. Had fondue at the Lodge, liked the Empreinte, Edelweiss, Signal, Fruitiere, and Sachette, but Bollin was the fave. Need to eat around 1 o’clock in Les Brevieres or the sun disappears.

Bought boots from Sure Foot – they were fantastic and would highly recommend for buying ski boots. Used Mountain Masters for lessons, best lessons ever. Mima and Ella were brilliant chalet hosts, made us feel at home. Harrison also did a great job filling in. We loved them. Not sure about the new food arrangement, though all food was great, delicious and portion sizes were bigger than expected which was great. All cakes were fabulous. The lemon drizzle was the favourite. Nano’s pizza was great for an easy but delicious meal. YSE have done well over the years, no complains which is why we keep coming back. Everything was superb. We loved the chalet and it worked very well for a mixed group.

Sophie and Mimi are lovely. Everything was perfect. The food was wonderful. The cakes are amazing, especially banana bread. The gluten-free food was amazing. Sophie and Amelie are absolutely marvellous, they kept the chalet spotless, are very efficient, managed different eggs at breakfast every day beautifully. All of the food was delicious and amazing. The youngsters had adult sized portions of kids’ food, and that went down really well, especially for a 6‘3“ 14-year-old! Particularly liked the chicken, sausage and mushroom, and the tartiflette, both with and without cheese. Loved the beef, the hake, the noodle soup and all of the cakes, particularly the chocolate cake, the lemon drizzle, the carrot cake and the brownies. Such a great holiday. Sophie and Amelie were awesome, and Aidan was a huge hit. Amelie and Sophie were fantastic, 10/10. Very helpful and friendly, but at the same time got on with their work efficiently in the background. Gnellets is a nice chalet and YSE are very upfront about it being the cheapest and oldest accommodation, though possibly needs some TLC. The food was great – would have liked more vegetables. Sausages definitely appreciated at breakfast. We stayed with VIP last year and food with YSE is much better. The entire holiday was very efficient and well managed by staff. Ski Shops: Snowberry were great. excellent customer service including a refund for one person who accidentaly kept their skis one day too long.

We all enjoyed a great holiday, our first visit to Val d’Isere. The location worked very well for us, with two small boys in ski school. We all gave Amelie and Sophie full marks for looking after us really well. The food was very well received by adults and kids alike, and we made best use of the extended wine list.

A wonderful holiday. Amelie and Sophie were outstanding, absolutely brilliant. The food was delicious, all restaurant standard. The cakes and breakfasts were lovely. Ski hire from Precision on the Snow Square who were rather rushed and rather rude. Good lessons from Olivier at ESF. Restaurants – good food at the Fondue Factory, Étincelle and Cucucina, which is expensive but worth it. Great holiday and going home to rebook for next year.

All good in Gnellets. Amelie and Sophie were wonderful. Really lovely and very friendly and they worked hard and were always prompt, and their communication was excellent re meal times and pre arrival etc.

Amelie and Sophie were a great team and were excellent hosts. Both very chatty and friendly and made for a lovely atmosphere. Really superb. We were worried about how good Christmas dinner would be but it was superb. After that we were able to relax.

Fantastic. You won’t find better girls than Sophie and Emily. They were wonderful with the children. Everything was perfect in the chalet and they couldn’t have been more helpful. Children loved the cakes, we loved the wine! Ski rental: Precision ski mixed. Different prices online to those offered in shop and problem with online booking. But staff were very helpful. Ski Republic very friendly and good customer service. Ski lessons: ESF instructor lovely but didn’t do a huge amount of actual teaching. Fred from Mountain Masters excellent for off-piste lessons. Restaurants: Le Garage very popular. Prices compare favourably with a much worse meal in the UK, the pizzas were excellent. Fondue Factory also great.

Both Izzy and Zoe were really good. Izzy was first class all week. Disappointed to have hake instead of beef welly on Saturday night. Hired touring kit from Killy sports, not a great selection. Lots of good lunches on the hill. Very enjoyable dinners at La Source and l’Etincelle.

Zoe and Izzie looked after us very well. They kept the chalet shipshape and were fun to have around. We love the new system with food, and thought the food was the best we’ve had yet, particularly the hake and the Katsu curry, though all was great. We love the chalet and are coming back next year. We’ve already been four times. We hired equipment from Precision at Rond Point, which was very good, much better than last year, with a nicer bloke in the shop and a better selection of equipment. We had lessons for the kids from Rob and Yuri, both of whom were excellent.

It’s been an amazing week – the chalet was fab – loved the underfloor heating. The girls were both super, and Rory last night was also great. Zoe and Issie were lovely, fantastic, sensational, good, amazing. Loved the steak, hake, pork belly, chicken. It was like eating in a Michelin star restaurant every night. The new sauvignon was also really tasty and it definitely slipped down! Comfortable beds/rooms, fab shower, but the bathroom radiator in room 2 does not seem to be working.

Nothing was too much trouble for Zoe and Izzy. They were polite and trustworthy though they were reactive rather than proactive. The food was amazing throughout the week exactly as expected. The sushi in particular was outstanding. It wasn’t the chalet we’d have chosen, after Pierre and Pic Noir, but we had a brilliant week. Zoe and Izzy are really good. Their food was fabulous, especially the first night soup and the hake curry. It was all amazing. The cakes were sublime. Some of the pillows needed changing, and were changed. Great holiday!! Grand Pre restaurant highly recommend – best burger ever.

It may be YSE’s 9th best chalet, but it definitely has the best chalet girls! Aimee and Zoe are wonderful! They are lovely, charming, terribly flexible with such a nightmare group! They looked after us beautifully when we were unwell. Their meals were fabulous, and the gluten-free guest was delighted. All of the cakes were lovely, as were the beef cheek and the chimmichurri. The food was delicious and well above expectations. Chalet was kept very clean. Lift passes were really easy as they were already in the chalets. The shower heads need a holder to be fixed in place, a wand isn’t enough. Could the small loo upstairs be pointed out on the first night. Hired excellent equipment from Mattis, including the most comfortable boots ever. Had a great lesson with Richard Harrison. For restaurants, we enjoyed the Fondue Factory, but La Source rather less. Folie deuce was really good food, as was Les Yules but it was very expensive. Cocos was great.

Aimee and Zoe were both brilliant, very accommodating, prompt and fun. The food was good and the cakes were great. Would have liked continental breakfast for some variety. Allergies catered for very well. Pork belly and ravioli were the favourites. The chalet has low beams and the top floor is not suitable for adults as it’s not much fun having to crawl into the loo. Despite this the location is ideal, having ski-passes all sorted was a big plus too. Benches in the garage/boot room need to be clear at all times.

Absolutely brilliant week! From start to finish Aimee and Zoe made us feel welcome and at home. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them. You could tell throughout the week how great they work together. Chalet is a little dated with no tv and the underfloor heating being too hot in the morning, again though all sorted by the girls. We ate out in Le Garage and it was really good, no complaints. Also hired from Ski Republic which was really helpful and friendly, English speaking too. Can’t wait to come back in March!

Girls were both fantastic and worked brilliantly together. They kept on top of everything and were really great at meeting all demands. Would return again. Aimee and Zoe were wonderfully friendly and attentive. The chalet food was excellent. Dinners were fab and loved the variety. More salads would be welcome. The hake was our favourite dinner. Thought the chalet was a bit run down but Aimee and Zoe made up for it.

Zoe and Will were great all week, Ed too when covering on Thursday. They were really friendly and willing to help. We had a great holiday. The food was good and the wine too! High standards across the board. Intersport ran out of powder skis with the good weather, so maybe not the best place to go for wide skis.

First ski holiday ever, and it was absolutely wonderful. It was lovely, everything was very very good. We loved the experience, the staff. The food was something else, especially the sushi, all canapés, and the belly pork. Zoe and Will couldn’t have done more to make the holiday wonderful. They felt like part of the family.

Chalet Isere was one of the best chalets we have ever stayed in and the hosts were amazing. Alfie, Nick, Louisa, and one day Katy, looked after us amazingly well. All lovely people, engaging, helpful, interesting and chatty, and they keep the chalet spotless. The food was fantastic including the breakfasts, and the cakes. Alfie is an absolute star, on another level. His cooking made the week really special. The chemistry between the team was great. We will definitely be coming back. We’ve been going on chalet holidays for 35 years and we are so annoyed that we didn’t find YSE sooner, completely different level to Le Ski and VIP. We loved the hot tub, sauna and multi plugs. Restaurants – excellent meals at the Cascade and Folie Douce, but the Empreinte was not nearly as good as last year. A brilliant holiday.

Our visit at Chalet d’Isere in Val d’Isère was a delightful blend of humor, hospitality, and the unexpected! The chalet staff, Nick, Louisa, and Sophie, were the lifeblood of our experience. Nick’s culinary skills were outstanding, especially his omelettes – each one was a flavor-packed masterpiece that had us craving more. He’s truly an egg-whisperer! His charming demeanour and stunning looks created a cosy environment in which he consistently promoted our enjoyment. Louisa, our spirited baker of the chalet, led our après-ski activities with such zeal and enthusiasm, it was impossible not to get swept up in the fun. She masterfully produced the best baked goods everyday and managed to creatively host our celebrities with smart thinking and discretion. Additionally, Sophie’s experience provided a flawless balance that resulted in priceless memories. Her talent was also evident when she won our trivia night thanks to her exceptional brain. We also appreciated how they all kept the chalet so clean and tidy considering we’re a messy bunch. Especially Nick who did a fantastic job keeping the hot tub and sauna clean. In a nutshell, Chalet d’Isere is a place where laughs are plentiful, the service is stellar, and the staff are as skilled as they are entertaining. Our stay here has left us with delightful memories and we would love to return. Many thanks.

Louisa, Nick and Aidan catered very well for a difficult group of varying ages with lots of children. Fantastic team. Food was great, although first night food was found to be a bit too rich. The team managed a tricky group with coeliacs very well and we really appreciated how much trouble they went to. Louisas’s individual gluten-free cakes for the children were really appreciated. The Victoria sponge and chocolate cake were both epic. Staff and food all excellent. A great week.

Such a lovely chalet, amazing. The most beautiful sitting and dining room. We’ve just had a wonderful week! Alfie was top notch, perfect. He is so talented and we enjoyed everything he cooked. Flora and Will were good and very helpful but they could perhaps have been a bit more chatty and hosted more. The tartiflette was delicious, though we would have gladly eaten more. The service at the Fondue Factory is not great, but we loved the Lodge, the Garage and the Marmottes. The Peau de Vache is also really very special! Really recommend the Atelier d’Edmund restaurant in Le Fornet, great set menu. Hire from Sport 2000 Portillo and Snowberry, all good.

Alfie was amazing. All week his food was delicious and he created a great atmosphere. Will and Flora kept the chalet immaculate. All in all they are a great working trio. It’s the cleanest chalet I’ve ever seen! Will even made the best fires. Alfie is going to be a renowned chef in the future. Chocolate banana cake and carrot cake were amazing. All canapés were amazing especially the beetroot. Edelweiss restaurant was great, we would definitely recommend. Equinox hotel/restaurant was surprisingly good, service was also great. Le Lodge was great on Wednesday – the food was amazing, would definitely recommend a visit.

Alfie’s cooking is a credit to YSE, even better than previous years! The food was really fantastic. Chalet staff were outstanding and really couldn’t have done more. Flora and Will were amazing and made us feel at home all week. Alfie’s food was so exquisite and the menu was amazing. We were amazed at how engaged he is in the hosting whilst also being able to cook such fabulous meals. He baked the best cakes we’ve ever had, especially the banana bread and chocolate cake. Our birthday cake was also divine. Le Panoramic was outstanding, would highly recommend. Only problem was the slow Wifi during peak hours. All in all we had a great time!

Alfie, what can we say, your meals were incredible. The canapés, steak, pork belly, desserts, all blew us away. Fish on Saturday was the best and goats cheese canapés were amazing. We know you hate baking cakes but they were delicious. When you set up your own restaurant let us know and we’ll be booking a table for 16. Will, you have been an epic host, a top fire maker and not to mention the best bucket hat wearer. We had the best time at Cocos with you and you were a dream for sorting out the water problem on your day off. Talia, the most glamorous hostess with the hostess. Always smiling and telling us funny stories and looking after us so well. Also you have the best post ski hair we’ve ever seen, there was literally no evidence of helmet hair when we saw you in La Daille! Chalet was kept extremely tidy and Will, Will and Talia were very accommodating, all brilliant. Lovely people, very friendly, very helpful. Very discreet, but also had a group WhatsApp where Talia gave really useful advice on which bar and nightclub to head to, and the staff really joined in with the guests. The food was excellent, 10 out of 10, 100%. We’re buying Murray’s book. Everybody raved about everything, eg the beef cheek, the hake and all of the cakes. The food was very tasty… but, it could be hotter, felt like they were just heated up. Really pleased that GF options were so easily available. Had one lunch on the terrace of Gigi, poor service and overrated. Loved Snowberry. Also a shoutout to Ed and Rory. The large chalet wasn’t very intimate; rooms could do with drawers; full length mirrors would be appreciated. The ice outside the door needs to be cleared. Ate out at Hotel Le Savoyard, it was exceptional.

The fifth YSE holiday, and it was as good as ever, if not better. Talia and both Wills were wonderful, lovely, amazing.Will Merry is a great chef!! Very grateful for all the work the staff had put in for birthday drinks and to make it such a great week. They were all so helpful and so calm. It was all A star. The food was all wonderful, especially the belly pork, the beef cheek, the fish, the cakes, the breakfasts, absolutely everything. We need instructions on the sauna and we need to discuss how the thermostat to work with the owners. But everything was marvellous.

Chalet staff Talia, Will and Connor were marvellous all week, brilliant and polite. Talia was lovely and Will was great and very chatty which we enjoyed. Conor is an excellent chef. Beef cheeks were amazing. Dan did a great job filling in and his meal was delicious. We went to The Lodge on Wednesday night and it was excellent, everyone was happy with their food and the place had a great atmosphere. I am currently at Geneva Airport about to head back to work, but just wanted to take the opportunity to pass on our thanks for a most excellent week. The staff at Chalet d’Isere were simply exceptional, Talia, Will and Connor really did go above and beyond in terms of what they have delivered this week; always on hand to help and genuinely warm and engaging with all the guests. Also need to pass on a special thanks to Dan who stepped in to chef at the last minute, an absolute star – but I am sure you are well aware of that. It was my first time with YSE and it certainly will not be the last, we are already scoping dates for next year – and if Chalet d’Isere is opened up to small groups we would definitely be keen to secure a place.

All staff were lovely, very personable and approachable. They worked well and kept up high YSE standards. Talia, Will and Flora were very helpful and keep a lovely chalet. Connor’s food was fab, enjoyed the wine too. The chalet was beautiful, very clean and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. The open plan upstairs is brilliant, nicest place we’ve stayed, worth the extra expense. Will was brilliant for booking loads of lunches for our big group and modifying them. When Flora came in, she immediately got stuck in and was very good. The wine was great but white wine coolers would be appreciated.

Used Snowberry for ski hire, great and super helpful with getting the right type of gear for the right level. Evolutions and Progression for private lessons, very happy with both these ski schools and would go back. In the chalet Conor did an amazing job cooking, his cakes especially were fabulous. Thai soup was the best and fish on the final night was great. Talia did a great job with the children, we never had to think about anything. Harrison was amazing and kept on top of everything. Will filled in excellently. 1879 restaurant was awesome. Only thing that would make the holiday better would be if there was a self-service laundry in the chalet.

Loved Connor’s food, especially the noodle soup. He was also really good at working around different dietary requirements – really appreciated with some coeliacs in the group. Talia and Harrison were great, really hard-working chalet hosts, and made an excellent team, very flexible with meal timings making it a very relaxed week. The chalet was stunning, in particular the top floor. Enjoyed the atmosphere at La Garage. Ski hire – Intersport really easy to rent from. We loved the new years eve do on the piste.

Connor is an incredible cook! Some of the food possibly too adventurous for young children in the group. Talia and Harrison were charming and attentive and approachable – made the whole experience great fun, they are an asset to YSE. Great team. The chalet was always immaculately clean. Some of the bedrooms are too warm at night and the open bathroom in one of the rooms is a little strange if you’re not a couple. Overall best ski holiday for a long time! Oxygene offers 30% off ski hire if you are booking lessons too.

Maddie, Adam and Yaz were fabulous. We had a fabulous week, so much fun and the chalet staff looked after us very well. They were charming, friendly, competent and efficient and they kept the chalet spotless. The food was absolutely delicious. The camembert canape was awesome, as was the chocolate cake. The bathrooms need more hooks for towels please! Restaurants – enjoyed meals at Chez Paulo and the Maison Louly at the top of Bellevarde. Snowberry were very good for ski hire. Oxygene instructor was terrible, he did very little instructing and just skied off.

We were very satisfied with the chalet and staff. They were very professional and always going the extra mile for us (even cobbling together a sandwich for me to rush out the door the morning of my day of my touring. The chalet is perfect for the size of our party (we were 10 this year). I especially liked the flat pricing this year as opposed to number of guests. We also had positive reviews about the bulk of meals being prepped offsite which made the kitchen less noisy this year. All in all a great holiday.

Just want to say that was an absolute pleasure and highlight to return to YSE as a guest of a proper luxury holiday than the more students/seasonairre ones I did 15-20 odd years ago. Maddie, Adam and Yas were faultless. An absolute testament to the training, discipline and attention to standards that you clearly still drive even 20 years later. I was always told how special YSE was when I worked there but I never appreciated or was old enough (or stressed enough with work and kids) to understand the impact that the staff have in a guest holiday. The extra touches, the kindness, the effort and the care by everyone (including drivers) was seen by our entire group and not just me. Having been both sides of the fence now, this week was pure perfection. The insanely perfect weather helped, but touring the resort as fast as my legs would take me, drinking like I was a student and talking to the staff 20 years younger like they were my colleagues was a special experience. The hour catch up we had was also up there as a holiday highlight! I hope they all get to hear this message of how great they are but that the effort they put in makes impacts far beyond what they will realise. In what is one of the most luxurious resorts in Europe they spend 6 months partying, having fun and living a life where they come back with more money rather than facing a remortgage to cover the debts!!! Above all having Annabel, John and Murray there to guide them as bosses and friends but also having that parental role will last for years in whichever route their lives follow. The hard work and discipline you create in that team each year is testament to your leadership and I hope they all make the most of every day, every run and every week of guests. I also wish YSE will still be doing the same in 20 years so they can all experience what I did last week. Also let Maddie know she has 6 kids across 3 families in Hertfordshire who are asking for her!!! Have a great end to the season. I will be back.

It was an absolutely wonderful holiday. Maddie and Adam are lovely, great with the kids, they’re chatty, professional and kind. They also keep the chalet spotless. The food was delicious – the coconut soup, duck, pork, all super. As were the cakes. All of the different diets were handled very smoothly and it was all excellent. The gluten-free porridge made with water was amazingly nice. To all the staff: enjoy your season, you’ll never be so carefree again! Ski hire from Snowberry, all good. Had excellent lessons from Progression. Had fantastic lunches at the Marmottes and Cascade, but not at the Yule which is expensive and mediocre. Everything was superb.

We had such a great time, chalet Lucaval is beautiful. Maddie and Adam were fantastic, the best chalet hosts. The food was excellent and we ate very well. We don’t eat things like curry but all this was changed and we got exactly what we liked, including extra fruit, vegetables and other food and drinks. Tartiflette and duck were our favourites. Not keen on the annexe. Restaurants – loved the Panoramic restaurant.

Brilliant holiday. Maddie, Adam and Yaz were all brilliant and created a perfect atmosphere. All of the food was delicious, including breakfast and cakes, and particularly the beef and the fish. The path to the annex is very slippery. Hired ski from Ski Republic, which is good, had lessons with Marco from Oxygene and also Ella from BASS, who was rude, hung over and didn’t teach at all. Restaurants – good food at the Casserole, and at the Empreinte.

That was just the most fabulous holiday! Loved Maddie and Adam, and Yas, when she came in, was brilliant too. They were all such sweethearts! They were efficient, helpful, friendly, articulate and funny. The food was wonderful. It’s a brilliant, very varied menu, particularly the fish and the tartiflette, but it was all fabulous, including the cakes and the breakfasts. They even baked extra banana bread for the trip home! Loved the wine list – maybe add some Savoyarde wines, perhaps Chignin Bergeron and a Gamay? Ski hire from Killy through Ski Set, where the man in charge is very stroppy and spoilt the whole experience. Restaurants – enjoyed Edelweiss, Barillon, Baraque and Paolo, thought 1789 wasn’t as good as it used to be and didn’t think much of the Fruitiere, where the noise ruins it.

Brilliant holiday. Maddie and Adam were absolutely brilliant. They are both good natured, well organised and very responsive. The food was excellent and very consistent so every meal was good, as were the cakes and the breakfasts. It’s a lovely chalet. The square table is brilliant. Restaurants – loved Edelweiss, Etincelle, Chez Paolo. Liked Fruitiere but the Grande Ourse and Cucuvina were disappointing.

Maddy and Adam are brilliant. A great team. Adam has a good sense of humour and totally cracked building the fire. Emma was lovely when she stepped in and the swap over was very smooth. The food was all very good, especially the hake and tartiflette. We had a lovely holiday.

Chalet is stunning! Kept really well by Issi and Molly. They were both lovely! The food was great all week, we were so impressed we bought the cookbook! Dietary requirements were catered for really well which was hugely appreciated. Highly recommend l’Etincelle for a good lunch. Lessons with Frederic from Oxygene were pretty average, though we had a group of mixed abilities which does make things more tricky.

Molly and Issi were amazing and accommodating. Everything was beautifully organised. Food was excellent, beef cheek, falafel and tartiflette were the favourites. Gluten free catered for really well, not missing out at all! The chalet is stunning. Need more shower gel. John’s speech is far too long! Ski Republic was really good, sorted out a mixup with skis.

Issi, Molly and Flora were all great. We were really well looked after all week. We really appreciated the extras from the girls, taking ski boots back to Snowberry etc. Breakfasts were delicious, beef cheek and pork also top notch. The food was all really good. Izzy and Molly were brilliant. As was Flora when she stood in. We caused a lot of mess and extra cleaning, which they took in their stride. Their food was delicious, very, very good. We particularly enjoyed the hake, beef beignets, sushi etc. The children said their bolognaise was the best ever! We hired from Oxygène and had excellent lessons from their Italian instructors Eduardo, Andrea and Pierro, though French Antoine was particularly good with the children. La Source is good for families, while Peau de Vache, Cucucina and Loulou are all very good. The bus service right to the door of the chalet is amazing.

Molly, Issi and Darcey were all great! Fun, cheerful and cooperative. The chalet was very clean indeed. Very good food all week, keeping up standards from previous years. Particularly the Asian soup, the hake, the sushi, the mushroom risotto, all of the canapés. Vegetarian food and gluten-free food were both very good. Ate out at Gigi sitting near the window, and loved it. Lucaval is a beautiful chalet, though room six en-suite needs a shelf put up. The annexe room is a long walk and could benefit with ice being cleared from the path.

Loved the chalet. Izzy and Molly amazing, great, really helpful, responded really well to any requests (and there were plenty). The food was amazing. We were a tricky group with all the dietary requirements, and the girls handled that really well. The only problem is the Wi-Fi is very very slow, and the bus doesn’t always go past Club Med (both these issues have now been rectified: the wifi is much faster and the navettes do go to Chalet Lucaval, which is why we ask for feedback, and act on it. YSE), but otherwise we could not have been more impressed or happy.

All used Snowberry for ski hire, very satisfied with service and quality of equipment. Oxygene for ski lessons for beginner adults. Very happy with lessons. Issy and Molly were amazing, friendly and nice. Food was brilliant. We are obsessed with the YSE brownies but do not like the new coconut addition to them. Lemon drizzle also favourite cake. Pork and tartiflette also favourite meals. Ate out at YSE recommended Pizza Love and Le Garage – wonderful time at both. Nothing could be changed to make the holiday better.

Izzy and Molly were the highlight of our holiday. They keep the chalet spotless, they go out of their way to help as they’re both incredibly sweet, as was Will. The food gets 10 out of 10. We loved the pumpkin soup, the tartiflette, the banana bread, the sushi, the canapés, the chocolate mousse cake. It was all amazing, 10 out of 10.

It’s the best chalet we’ve ever been to. The girls are fabulous, quiet and discrete in the background and kept the chalet spotless. Great food, cakes much better than last year, portions were very good. Didn’t think much of the house wine but agreed it’s very personal, and some of the wine list is great. Needs more hooks. The girls Issy and Molly kept the chalet absolutely spotless and are both fabulous. Will did a great job filling in. The food was great. Pork belly was the favourite! The bathroom, heating and television need written instructions please. Restaurants – La Gourmandine. Savoyard cuisine. Highly recommended. Lo Soli does a very good tartiflette. Loved Edelweiss and the new Sachette and the corner across in Tignes is good for a quick snack. Ski hire from Skimium, which was good.

We just wanted to thank the team at YSE for such a great holiday last week. It was the first time our family had been together for three and half years due to the pandemic and to have had such a lovely chalet and Connor and Sophie looking after us was just perfect. Lucaval is just a beautiful chalet. Chalet staff Connor and Sophie are fantastic. They make a great team and really work well/compliment each other. The whole operation felt organised and relaxed. Connor is definitely the best chef we’ve ever had, without a doubt. The vegan and gluten free food was very very good. The whole mealtime felt really inclusive. Favourites: fish curry, noodle soup, passionfruit cake with poppy seed, beef fillet, beef cheek with baked polenta. We ate meals at Le Luge: Sophie’s recommendation was spot on, Cinq Feres: outstanding, the best, so so good.

Snowberry – very good kit and changed boots when needed. Lucaval really was lovely – it was extremely comfortable and spacious for us all. It would be nice to have some deck chairs on the balcony to enjoy the sun. Sophie was amazing – she really went the extra mile for us picking up extra things when we needed them. Connor is a first class chef. Sticky toffee pudding, steak, all the canapés, and the tartfillette all outstanding. Fondue factory very good. The chalet was lovely and Lucy looked after us really nicely. She was so attentive and friendly. Connor’s food was excellent and it was particularly nice to have lots of variety in the food. We particularly liked how light and fresh it was and that there were some spicier options. Some of us had considered not doing chalet holidays anymore as the food is too heavy but Connor changed their minds.

Sophie and Connor are amazing, delightful, faultless. So helpful. Chalet was superb, really beautiful. Terrific week. Connor’s food is absolutely amazing. Favourites: noodle soup, Mexican chocolate beans, duck, brownies, beef fillet, all great. Preferred Syrah over the Malbec. Jacquere nice if very cold. Should get pain au chocolat and croissants for breakfast every day. Felt that on Sophie’s day off it was too much work for Connor to cook, plate, and serve food etc for that number of people by himself. Would be better if there was a floater to help. For ski hire, Snowberry Slopeside not great. IT problem with booking meant booking was not registered. Streetside much more helpful but had to return and rehire equipment after one day. Much better skis at Streetside. Precision: usually used Snowberry but tried Precision as so much cheaper. Pre-booked to shop just up the road from Les Chardons, however when we arrived there was a sign saying closed for season. Got sent round 3 different branches before got equipment. Kit ok but will be returning to Snowberry. Signal really good. Lovely lunch. Trifolet lovely lunch. Paulo’s cafe good.

Snowberry – really good equipment and service. Prosneige for children’s lessons – been with them before and they were excellent again. In the chalet Sophie and Connor were brilliant – Sophie sorted out a restaurant booking last minute when La Corniche suddenly cancelled. We didn’t know about the Tuesday and Wednesday chef days off before, so maybe a bit more communication prior to arriving would be good, but again Sophie and Connor handled it very well. The food was amazing – we want to take Connor home with us! The duck and the beef fillet were highlights. Restaurants Baraque and Equinox both great. La Corniche were very rude and unhelpful.

Ski hire at Ski Republic amazing value but staff not that helpful. The chalet was fantastic, couldn’t complain about anything. Just brilliant. Sophie and Connor were absolutely amazing. Connor’s food was unbelievable. Every meal out in restaurants was worse than the chalet food! Favourite was the duck, best wine was the Demon Noir Malbec of which we consumed vast quantities. Restaurant – raclette at the Corniche was really good but service was slightly slow.

Snowberry skis were amazing and we don’t think they’re too expensive. Didn’t enjoy bar Jacques because the wait was far too long. Fondue Factory excellent – need to book somewhere before coming out because all the restaurants get very busy. Chalet Lucaval was fantastic. Kate and Josh were amazing, they seemed to know everything and were incredibly helpful and informative. Josh is an amazing cook. Wish we could have his food every day. Coming back to the cakes in the afternoon after skiing was heaven. The buses and taxis are a bit unreliable and we got stranded one evening when our taxi didn’t show up. Luckily Ed was driving by and picked us up even though he was off duty so we’re very thankful for that. It’s a bit inconvenient to go down to the village for dinner, so the ideal would be to have dinner in the chalet every night of the week. Overall everyone had a perfect holiday despite the bad weather on Wednesday and Thursday.

An amazing holiday in Lucaval. Josh was exceptional and food was world-class. Kate and Charlotte were great hosts, and it felt like a real family vibe. Amazed how Josh can prepare his food in the small kitchen. His attention to detail, presentation and accommodation to dietary requests was appreciated. The annexe needs more tiles in bathroom. Transfers supremely efficient. Restaurants – The Fondue Factory was amazing, if you like fondue… Best to book direct. ESF not good for a child on their own who can’t speak French. Booking lunches up the mountain might be worth recommending as YSE does for the evenings, to identify where the nice places for good value are.

The holiday totally exceeded all our expectations. The chalet was kept impeccably, the three staff Josh, Charlotte and Kate created a wonderful atmosphere. The perfect balance of being helpful yet not intrusive. A wonderfully natural balance. This was by far the best chalet food we’ve ever had. Truly exquisite. Josh was very accommodating to our every need and request throughout the week. The message that one guest was veggie didn’t get through to the chalet but Josh didn’t even skip a beat and whipped something up instantly. Restaurants – Bar Jaques was absolutely lovely and we’d definitely go back. Similarly, La Corniche was insane but make sure you are hungry when you go! YSE went above and beyond the call of duty getting us a ski-pass refund for the half a day when we couldn’t ski; we’ve never had this before and it was very much appreciated. The communication from YSE was excellent throughout: a fantastic holiday.

Loved the chalet. Wonderful modern decor. All three chalet staff looked after us very well. Food was lovely. We’ve had Josh before and knew the high standards we’d be getting!! Restaurants – Casa Scars and Étincelle both excellent. Signal is a favourite up the mountain. Land Rover shuttle timings could have done with being earlier to bring us back from skiing, or also later to bring us back from dinner out. Lucaval is a bit more remote than other YSE chalets we have stayed in. Very much appreciated the refund from our lift pass for the days when there was no skiing. Snowberry was great.

Lovely chalet with fantastic staff, the food is absolutely fabulous and Josh is a very calm chef! All the meals were outstanding. The annexe feels very separate from the rest of the chalet, it’s inconvenient to put boots and coats as it is at least one minute’s walk from the main chalet. Snowberry skis were too expensive although they refunded readily when one person did not want to ski. Le Jardin des Alpes restaurant is also expensive. It’s a shame we have to eat out for two nights now (due to French regulations) as we were expecting six evening meals in the chalet (see What’s Included).

It was a superb week despite a skiing accident on the last afternoon of the holiday. Josh, Charlotte and Kate were absolutely wonderful, the chalet was beautiful and the singleton was thrilled to have his own room and bathroom. Josh’s food was outstanding, the duck and beef fillet as well as a deep-fried cheese starter — it was all very good and extremely professional. We were looked after beautifully as well. The accident was handled In a caring manner by all concerned. Snowberry for ski hire were very good, and if the skis didn’t suit there was no problem changing them. Meal out was a brasserade at the Aigle de Neiges – too hot for comfort and very expensive!

Ski republic (Precision ski) badly organised and not geared up for a big party like ours. We wouldn’t book with them again, certainly not at the shop by Rond Point. Oxygène ski school were amazing with the kids. They had a fabulous time. Progression ski’s Ken was amazing for adult beginner. Chalet staff work amazingly well as a team (that’s lucky since they’re married!). They were great with children and accommodating/helpful/friendly – really exceptional. Josh’s food was absolutely outstanding. Our expectations were far exceeded! 5.30 is slightly late for the land rover shuttle as the children’s ski school finished at 5. The drivers were excellent, very reliable. The whole YSE team are all excellent and friendly. Over all very accommodating and helpful.

Jemima and James were brilliant, absolutely spot on. They were friendly, accommodating and charming! The food was brilliant, absolutely delicious, particularly the hake, the dauphinoise, the first night chicken, the beef, the chocolate mousse, the pea and mint soup. It would be good if logs can be brought in to dry a bit earlier, for instance under the fireplace. Restaurants – excellent meal at the Yule, lots of fun at Coco, but Folie Douce was mediocre and rude.

As ever we enjoyed our annual trip to Val d’Isere. Jemima and James looked after us very well. The catering worked very well. The thing I noticed was that the consistency remained at a high level over the entire week with great attention to detail and without the cook spending hours in the kitchen. So the new food preparation arrangements seem to work very well. Also allowing the three young men to have beer rather than wine (which they don’t drink- more fool them) was appreciated. So in a nutshell we would give YSE top marks and would have no hesitation in recommending them to our friends! Hope you have a good rest of season and see you next year.

Used Snowberry for ski hire and they were perfect. Lessons/guiding with Mountain Masters (Al and Simon) who we’ve used for the last 10 years and were as good as ever. Chalet staff Jemima and James were really good, very clean and we had a good week. Liked the food a lot, and particularly the hake. Everything we asked for was there on arrival which was much appreciated. The children’s meals were also fab and the hosts were good with them.

Jemima and Sam were absolutely lovely, charming and efficient. All the right attitudes. You always know you’ll get a really good standard with YSE. Sam’s cakes are epic. The food was all fantastic, without exception, but the hake, coconut and ginger soup and sushi were particularly memorable. Loved Cascade and Rosee Blanche, but were disappointed by the fondue at the Fondue Factory. Ski Republic in Portillo very good for ski hire. The hot tub was wonderful, used it every day. The robes and crocs are a great touch but need more hooks for the robes. Ski Republic weren’t great, not enough equipment. Gave guests the wrong skis because of low stocks, overall bad service.

Jemima and Sam were really good, friendly, highly attentive and welcoming. They got on with their jobs in the background but were also really helpful and friendly for help with anything specific. Food was delicious and the presentation was lovely. All canapés were really good. Good portion sizes and variety. Favourites were the tartiflette, duck and smoked haddock ravioli. On the day off brought pizza back from Pizza Pizza on the way back from Cocorico. Loved the hot tub.

Mk and El were an amazing duo. They made us feel at home and were very attentive to all of our needs. All food was delicious. MK did an amazing job catering for all of our dietary requests. We loved the chalet and hope to return.

Really impressed with Gemma and MK as they were friendly and always very attentive and helpful. MKs food was excellent with the fig salad and the beef getting special mentions with no dishes we didn’t enjoy. Especially happy with the way MK catered to their different dietary requirements as all the alternative dishes were exceptional. The chalet was always clean and tidy and has a good atmosphere. Extra towels for the sauna would be a good touch. Ate out at 1789 – very pleased with it.

Ski hire with Berrosso Sport due to close proximity, and Intersport as they had the highest spec of snowboards. All guests happy with equipment. Evolution 2 for ski instructor Pierre – mixed feelings, lovely guy but didn’t give specifics on how to improve technique, just provided constant encouragement. Staff MK and Gem are the perfect double act, worked perfectly together. Hard catering for their group but MK and Gem did an amazing job. All chalet food was amazing. The breakfast portions were bigger than last year which was greatly appreciated. Steak, hake and chicken were amazing and delicious. Restaurants – ate out at Corniche and Flash Pizza – would recommend them. Only issues of the holiday were that the wine not as good as last time, and the walk up and down from MDR is not stable as it gets so icy (now resolved).

Just to say that we had the most fantastic week in Val d’Isere last week. Quite apart from the fact that we totally lucked out with the snow and sunshine, we had a brilliant time with Izzie and Theo in Chalet des Neiges. What a spot!! Whilst it isn’t the most luxurious chalet you offer, I can’t believe there is one in a better location for access to the slopes, not to mention La Rosee Blanche that we seemed to end up in every day! The communal area suited us brilliantly and was very comformatble for the whole gang. We have been raving about YSE to all our friends, many of whom use your company already.

The cakes were very good, particularly the lemon drizzle. Ski hire from Skimium – wasted a lot of time returning the equipment, and from Ski Republic, who had bad boots. Excellent meals at l’Alpin, Edelweiss, the Fruitiere cheese room and l’Etincelle.

Sophie and Sam weren’t just good they were better than good and made a huge effort getting to know us, making sure we had everything we needed and looking after us. It’s our first time with YSE and it was a great experience. The food was much better than we were expecting. We asked for quite a few extra things and we got them all. Chalet was kept beautifully. We wanted to show them how much we appreciated all their work and wrote a song for them which we sang on the last night!!

Particularly remembered the beef cheek, the hake, the duck and the fish ravioli and the pesto canapé. Sophie is particularly good with guests and made us feel nothing is too much trouble. Uncomfortable boots from Ski Republic initially, but they re-measured and the problem was sorted. The female staff member didn’t speak much English, but the male staff member was awesome and helpful. We use an independent instructor called James, using him for years. One of the group was a first time skier, and he really helped her to gain confidence. In the chalet James and Charlotte were lovely and very helpful. Marc was also really great, good chat. Sophie was brilliant, especially considering this is her first week – really chatty and friendly, the perfect hostess. Food was all lovely and there was a good mixture of seafood and meat. Favourite was fish night. Restaurants – La Baraque was very good. The family restaurant at the bottom of Le Fornet is so good. French owner helpful and very accommodating when we needed a table for 17, nice food and reasonably priced.

The chalet is in a great location. you really can ski in, ski out. Tom, Orla and Issie were friendly, approachable, helpful and fantastic hosts! Great all round, efficient and laid-back. The food was delicious and very consistent – loved the hake and the sushi, and all of the cakes, especially the flapjacks! The food was really good all week, steak and tartiflette were the best. Keeping up YSE’s high standards. Kudos to Tom for being such a help with bags. Restaurant below Rosie’s Le Barillon was ideal for the night off, great Savoyarde cuisine. Ate out also at the Lodge and the Garage and liked them both, though the service at the Yule was appalling. Borasso at La Daille was really convenient for good ski hire.

Tom, Orla and Issi were great all very professional, kind, cheery and work well together. They run a great chalet, and nothing was too much trouble. The food was great, more veg would be appreciated. A salad or something extra to accompany the main would be ideal. Gluten free and other dietaries were catered for really well. Breakfasts were fab, nutella sarnies went down a treat too. Dishwasher seemed to cause extra work for Orla and Tom. Rooms were often too hot at night (we can show guests how to adjust the radiators – YSE). More coat hooks would be appreciated. Instructor Nico from TDC ski school. was great. Snowberry were able to swap snowboard for skis no bother. Gigis restaurant not that good for the cost.

Tom and Orla were fantastic, they made our first trip to the Alps very memorable. Both super friendly and they had lots of helpful recommendations. Really appreciated the extra effort put into birthday cakes, balloons, walking us to the lift on the first morning, the lot. The food was amazing, house wines were great too! The biggest problem was deciding how each day could be better than the last. Thanks for a great week! Alex at YSE was very helpful when booking and quick to answer questions.

Last time we stayed in Chalet d’Isère, which we loved, but we love Chalet des Neiges as much if not a tiny bit more! Tom and Orla were fabulous, very efficient, but unobtrusive and lovely company. The food was superb, excellent, better than in any restaurant we went to. Especially the steak, the breakfast, eggs, the cakes, absolutely everything. We even learned to make porridge properly. Wonderful holiday. The prices at Borasso ski hire seemed very high. People were paying twice as much as at Ski Republic for less good kit.

Orla and Tom were fantastic. Will was amazing when he stepped in. It is good to see the hosts having a nice time working together. It makes the chalet atmosphere very nice and comfortable. Orla and Tom went far and beyond and did everything we could ask for and more. We’ve been many times and they were probably the best team we’ve had. Chalet food was excellent. Murray meals is a great idea and allowed the hosts to cook noticeably less than previous years which allowed us to be looked after more. The Hake was amazing. Menu variation was great all cakes were fab we didn’t do justice to them. Went to Le Barillon in La Daille on Wednesday which was lovely and easy. Sport 2000 Boroso were wonderful and very practical being so close to our chalet.

Great week. Chalet was lovely, it felt very cosy and like home. Orla and Tom were brilliant, very friendly and professional. Skis were hired from Intersport, very good value with really helpful staff. We really liked how the informality and friendliness helped everyone mingle quite well. Food delicious all week with favourites being the coconut and ginger noodle soup, pork belly and katsu curry. Ate out at the Casserole, cosy and authentic whilst being good value for money, friendly staff who were English speaking. In general thought the whole holiday was very well organised from start to finish. Booked the holiday two days in advance and had constant updates and communication from head office which was very helpful. Can’t wait to return next year!

Precision Ski used. Pre-booked all on the same level and price but got different types and quality of skis. The ski selection felt a bit random. However we were all happy with skis in the end. Tom and Orla were lovely and food was great. They were friendly, welcoming and great with conversations and worked well and made us feel at home in the chalet. All the cakes were amazing. Good variety of food and presentation. Steak and hake were the standout meals.

Really liked the chalet. Tammy and Zoe were both excellent, lovely girls! Looked after us beautifully. The food was very good, and the system with centralised preparation worked very well. Loved the ravioli with smoked haddock, the hake, the pork, the beef cheek, all starters and puds, the lemon drizzle cake. Breakfasts were excellent. The lighting is good, the soap is an improvement, but more hooks are needed, and there is still a notice saying please request slippers! Ate out at the Cinq Frères, very good.

A brilliant holiday! Liv is amazing, brilliant, fab with the children, who she played with really well. She was calm and relaxed, but always well presented, smart and highly professional. Her food was brilliant. No favourites – all delicious. Wonderful cakes. Hired skis from Snowberry – very good. Excellent lessons from Yuri at Oxygène, Not bad from Nathalie at EV2. Lunch at La Source wasn’t great. Etincelle, Peau de Vache and 3 Capucines are all very good. The Casserole is good, though really hot. The Equinoxes a bit disappointing. The bar under the Lodge is very nice. Jelly and Ice Cream nanny service don’t have much to stimulate children. The wifi was bad this week, and Otto needs hooks, perhaps in the hall.

Have been coming since 1993 and really enjoyed the stay. The location was far better than previous years. Tami was amazing, still working despite injuring her hand, and Rachel took over at short notice with a smile and a very nice manner. The whole place was kept very clean. The beef cheek, pulled pork and thai soup were all amazing. We really enjoyed the food being more modern and diverse compared to previous years, and enjoyed the new wines. John was really helpful with Jan’s accident, and the chalet girls were very accommodating around the ACL injury. The chalet was overall a really high standard, however they would have preferred hooks on doors and somewhere to put soap in the shower. Antoine from Oxygene was great in a really small group, and we enjoyed Alex from Mountain Masters taking us off piste and to the village perdu.

Used Oxygene to hire ski boots on first day which were very uncomfortable but they were very helpful in changing them but lacked a variety of ski types such as twin tips. Tami was a great chalet host, good vibes and never felt awkward in the chalet, felt like part the group in a good way. We will be back. Loved all the chalet food. Didn’t realise it would be so good. Presentation on food was great. Chocolate fudge was favourite cake. Restaurant La Luge was unbelievable and Casserole was solid but not as good as La Luge. Only issue was that breakfast felt a bit repetitive and got a bit boring. Some pastries would be a nice addition. Falafel was also a bit dry but that’s just being picky…

We are having a brilliant holiday. We have been coming to Val for 15 years, and nearly always with VIP ski. This is our first time with YSE and I am so impressed. I am only sad it has taken us this long to change allegiance! From your personal interest, to Alex’s incredible hosting, the formula is very good. Alex is the most perfect chalet girl. We couldn’t fault her. Her food was all delicious and beautifully presented. Breakfasts were superb. We loved the cakes, especially the banana, carrot and lemon drizzle. The duck, hake and beef cheek were particularly memorable main courses, and the sushi and falafels were delicious. We found baby-sized ski boots at the Ski Hut. Leaving kit at Mattis is good, but hiring a locker for 120€ is better.

It’s a wonderful chalet. So convenient. Katie was the perfect chalet girl. She is excellent, lovely, brilliant, very flexible. Her food was delicious, fantastic and beautifully presented. We put so many shots on Instagram! We particularly loved the hake, the pork belly and the katsu curry, but it was all fantastic. Katie catered beautifully for the two-year old, with fish and chips, bangers and mash etc. The only thing missing was somewhere to hang your towel in the separate loo, but if that was the worst experience we had you can see why we’re booking now for next year!

Such a great week had by the 4 of us, all thanks to Katie! Everything from the atmosphere to the food in the chalet was wonderful. 2 of the party have never holidayed with YSE before and we’re blown away by the company approach. The effort that Katie went to to get the rugby playing on the TV, speaking with the drivers, other chalet hosts as well as Annabel and Patou, showed how close knit the team is, which is great to see. Ate out on Wednesday evening but we would have rather have Katie’s cooking! Can’t wait to return with YSE next year.

The most amazing week, it was the best holiday some of us have ever had. Loved Frankie and Marc who were so professional and fun at the same time which isn’t an easy balance. They were super flexible with meal times and never made us feel bad about coming in from Cocoricos late! Food was all delicious and varied, particular favourites were the duck, the tartiflette, the beef, the pork, the carrot cake, but everything was delicious. All the staff were very, very good. A super holiday. Frankie and Marc are absolutely brilliant. They run a well-oiled machine, are lots of fun, both have a sparkle in their eye, looked after the chalet wonderfully, kept it spotless, and served really good food. Every meal was our favourite, particularly the noodle soup. Maybe could have some more vegetables – perhaps a bowl in the middle of the table, but the food quality has improved since previous years, especially the alternatives on offer. Chalet des Pentes was great, really lovely, especially the hot tub. Restaurants – Triffolet was reasonable, but not amazing and the staff were a little rude. Ski hire – Borasso Sport excellent, very helpful, really great.

Frankie and Marc were really good, very sweet and nice, great with the kids, and very responsive to any requests and really went the extra mile. The food was all great. The children’s meal were great and Frankie and Marc were so good with the kids. The hake was particularly memorable as was the tartiflette. Harrison remembered that last year we particularly enjoyed the tartiflette, and he ensured we got extra! Our vegetarian appreciated that the staff even left out gelatine, which she is not particularly worried about, which was very kind. Restaurants – good meals at the Triffolet, Cucucina and Cascade, thought Loulou was very expensive, and thought Lo Soli was better last year. Snowberry for ski hire – excellent.

Marc and Frankie were excellent. They have a laid back style which makes for a relaxing atmosphere, but at the same time they’re on top of everything and very efficient. Nothing seemed to be a problem for them. They really went the extra mile. We can’t wait till next year! The chalet is lovely, especially the fire and hot tub, though the bedrooms are on the small side and could do with more storage space. Food was brilliant, all meals were lovely, including people who have different dietary requirements – unusual in a chalet. Cakes were amazing. Ski hire – Borasso fine, very efficient. The Sauvignon and Cotes de Rhône house wines were really nice. Fizzy wine was good and the option to upgrade the wine was good. The jacuzzi was lovely. Chalet was kept really clean and tidy, delicious cakes. The food was great, always is with YSE. Fish curry and beef were the faves, tartiflette too! Love the addition of the hot tub! More towels or dressing gowns would be appreciated. The floor was also very slippery around the hot tub. Could the chalet hosts shake out the ice and snow from the rubber mats?

First chalet holiday, definitely better than hotels, and the free wine really appreciated. Alice and Harrison very professional, keeping the place spotless while making it feel homely. Worked well as a team, giving loads of info in advance about their days off and what would happen. The food was consistently good, the breakfasts really efficient and dealing well with many different egg requests. Really appreciated the extra birthday cake. Favourite dinners were the katsu curry, pork belly and beef cheeks, enjoyed everything. Also really liked the hot tub. Rental skis from Ski 2000 had a binding fall off while the skis were standing up. Prosneige and ESF for ski schools, both good enough.

Izzy and Issy were great hosts! We have stayed with YSE a lot so know exactly what to expect! Enjoyed this holiday just as much as previous ones. The food was awesome, especially the tartiflette! We recommend the restaurant/canteen at the bottom of Madeleine! Beds are a bit hard. But we loved it!

We had a great week! The girls were both very helpful in particular with meal times, really flexible. They created a great atmosphere in the chalet. Excellent! Always there when needed, and leaving the place very well kept. Enjoyed the meals, especially the steak. The children’s meals were very well received. Overall the chalet was great, with no complaints and we really liked the hot tub as an option. Ski school – Fred at Mountain Masters was really good, particularly with the children. Restaurants – Le Garage for veggie/vegan options.

Ski hire from Ski Republic, very good. Lessons with Dave from TDC who was amazing, Chalet host Chelsea was brilliant! We couldn’t fault her, she was like a part of the family for the week. Food was really good, flexible with dietary requirements which didn’t ever feel like a burden from having these needs. Restaurant – ate at Casserole which was very cheesy and very nice.

Thanks again for a wonderful experience with YSE. I was travelling with 4 others in my party who have never used YSE before, and I’m almost certain they’ll be back at some point either with or without me. Where to start – having never stayed in one of the smaller, newer chalets before, I was blown away with the style and quality of the decor. And then Chelsea, who looked after us wonderfully from start to finish, regularly going above and beyond with nothing too much, recommending and even booking ski lessons, recommending restaurants/bars, and a fantastic rapport with us for the full week, can’t speak highly enough of her demeanour, cooking or cleaning. Certainly one of the best YSE hosts I’ve ever experienced after 5 or so trips. Slight glitch with my extended ski pass being a day short, but luckily spotted soon enough so no real impact, and sorted swiftly by the team on the ground. Also offset heavily by you generously offering to give the discounted rate for the extended period. All in all another fantastic trip, hugely contributed to by YSE. Look forward to staying with you again soon.

We loved Chelsea. She was fantastic, very pro-active and always one step ahead. It was just a perfect week. The food was delicious, but the highlight was the vegan food. Usually vegan options are worse than regular food but this week the vegan meals were all spectacular. The food has definitely improved since we were last here a few years ago. Restaurants: La Peau de Vache was fantastic, expensive but great food. The L’Ouillette restaurant at the bottom of the Madeline lift was also lovely as was all food at the Folie Douce. Ski hire – Snowberry, great service as usual but they forgot to do up my bindings so had to go back to get that sorted.

Perdrix is an amazing chalet and the sauna is a huge bonus. Chelsea is absolutely lovely, and super-helpful. Her cooking was amazing considering she was catering to a group with very varied dietary needs, (gluten free cakes were hugely appreciated). Also a massive thank you to Rachel from the UK office for upgrading us to Perdrix. This is exactly the reason we go withYSE, you can see they really care about their customers. Food was very nice, especially beef cheek and hake. Vegetarian alternatives were excellent. It’s hard to get such effortless alternative meals to the main meal and YSE seemed to have cracked that. Restaurants – Triffolet and Fondue Factory both really good. Ski lessons with ESF – excellent. Instructor spoke perfect English and moved people between groups to ensure everyone was in a group at the right level. Claire from Mountain Masters also excellent, super-friendly and a great instructor. Intersport really good, easy service and good skis, appreciated the YSE discount.

It’s a gorgeous chalet and Sophie is absolutely outstanding. She keeps the place incredibly keen polishing every handle in the kitchen! Her food was quite superb and absolutely delicious. We remember the beef cheek and the hake, but nothing really stands out because it was all fabulous. We hired from Ski Republic, which is very cheap and really good. We had excellent meals at the Fruitiere, the self-service on the Grande Motte and the Equinoxes. We’ll be back very soon.

Snowberry was very good and easy, would highly recommend. ESF were excellent, had lessons everyday and had a lot of fun. Chalet staff Sophie was excellent and delightful, and very welcoming. Everything was super. Tilly is amazing, top drawer, discrete, and lovely, the chalet was the tightest we’ve ever known. The food was absolutely delicious! We had a wonderful ESF instructor called Mathieu Petit, who runs the Arsellaz with Marie Pierre. The whole family took him for the whole week, and he did everything they could’ve hoped for, off piste, on piste, Coco’s, every possible restaurant. He was just brilliant. We had great meals at Edelweiss, Empreinte (not great for kids), Pignatta (great for kids!), 1789, Signal, l’Armailly.

Tilly was so so good, we wanted to put her in our ski bag and bring her home! She was accommodating with the girls and on the ball constantly. It really felt as though she was part of the group, she fitted in completely, is very switched on and so tidy. The food was absolutely beautiful, and a great variety, including the kids’ menu. Sam is a nice lad, easy to chat to and get on with. Used Proneige instructors for lessons and they were good but the class was overbooked so there were people of different abilities in the same class. We ended up having to split the lesson into two 1.5 hour groups to get the most from it. Intersport great for ski hire.

Chelsea even had them helping her make cakes. The food was all delicious, including the brilliant vegetarian options. This is a real plus on a chalet holiday. We kept changing our minds about which chalet we were going to eat in, but we were never made to feel this was a problem. Nothing was too much trouble. Great meals out at Edelweiss, Folie Douce, GGs and Peau de Vache.

Tilly was absolutely glorious! Properly lovely girl, this is the 17th holiday with YSE and she was stand out as the best chalet girl ever. She was also so amazing with the little girls who were in love with her by the end! Had a very sad goodbye hug. The food was amazing as always. The kids’ favourite cake was the banana. They also loved all the children’s meals despite being usually quite fussy. Lessons – used Valerie from Evolution2 for children and she was good.

Tilly is very, very special. She’s a lovely girl and a real pro. The food was lovely. Appreciated very much that it was lighter food than sometimes has been. Really enjoyed the burgundies from the wine list. Loved the chalet and its location. Millie is very special indeed, as was Lizzie when she stood in. Both really really good, excellent and so efficient. Lovely girls and the changeover between them was seamless. Superb food. Really enjoyed the hake. It’s a beautiful chalet. Shame that there are problems with the TV, though that was probably because of the snow. Had lessons and got equipment from Prosneige, with excellent lessons from their instructor Yann.

Ski Hire – Snowberry, excellent, we even bought the boots off them which were moulded for free. Lessons with TDC, fairly poor, instructor just skied off and had an hour hot chocolate break. In the chalet India and Millie were great as they both got on with the group very well, while providing a great service. The meal on Saturday was the favourite. The veggie options were good, just a bit heavy having two curry dishes in a week. The wine got great. We loved the chalet and it works really well when you have teenagers who want to go out a lot.

She set up a group chat so they could all talk about meal time etc. When Lizzie came in, she was great and got settled in quickly. The chalet location was great for skiing and shops. The food was great, and as good as previous years. In particular, the beef, pork belly and sushi were very good, as was the tartiflette. The food was excellent, Millie is very efficient in the kitchen, breakfasts were excellent. Loved the goulash in La Cascade, and Les Marmottes. Enjoyed the chalet’s sauna and the town pool.

My wife and I were staying with a friend near the church in Val last week to help my daughter and her in-law family; they skied while we were on babysitting duty. They were in an apartment at the Savoie apartments. They had a great week (and so did we). I was hugely impressed by their apartment, and above all by all the YSE staff we met, from on the bus to/from the airport to routine ‘service’ in the chalet. Young Millie was brilliant in every respect, strongly supported by her young colleagues. We had a chance to have one dinner with them in the chalet and couldn’t believe they were dining like that every night! You are very lucky to have such ‘quality’ staff working for you. Just thought I’d let you know, so you can pat them on the back.

Snowberry used for rentals, all very happy with quality of skis. Also used Unplugged for ski clothing rental, it was great gear. Dave from BASS was awesome with ski lessons, he was a great beginner instructor. Milly was a fantastic chalet host and made us feel so welcome. Helped out with everything, even how to put on ski boots. She was so informative of the resort and what to do in Val. She really went above and beyond and catered for everyone’s needs especially the gluten-free. All cakes were amazing and food was sensational. The hake, pork and beef were fabulous. Victoria sponge and banana bread were fave cakes. Le Baraque was very good from the YSE recommended restaurant list. Lemon drizzle was our least fave cake it was a bit too sharp, but other than that no complaints with the holiday, everything was fantastic and the chalet was amazing and it’s location.

A superb holiday thank you! Being in Pierre is a huge treat and the hot tub and ping pong table have both proved to be popular. We very much like the location right by the Laisanant chair and using the buses to get to and from town/skiing. Lottie and Base are doing a fantastic job, confident and friendly. The food has been wonderful! Dave from BASS has been brilliant with the teenagers for morning lessons.

Having been on a number of catered chalet ski holidays as a group, YSE was without a doubt one of our favourite experiences. Both Lottie and Base were friendly, welcoming and no ask was too much. They both gave great insights into places to ski for different weathers, après spots and a cracking Wednesday night pizza delivery service! The rooms were always left beautifully clean, dinners always ran to the arranged timings and there was never any show of stress or confusion throughout the trip. Both Lottie and Base handled themselves very professionally and were a pleasure to spend the week with. Both were accommodating to our cheese preferences and made sure to address the situation as soon as we got there and throughout the week, this was very much appreciated. All the food was yummy, some particular favourites being the sushi appetiser, beef cheek main and tartiflette! We hope to use YSE again in the future when returning to Val d’Isère given our positive experience.

Lottie and Base were really good, there’s a great dynamic between them and they looked after us so well. They are both knowledgeable, giving tips for things around the valley and mountain information. They made sure we had a really good time. Snowberry were great, it all worked very smoothly. Evolution2 seemed good, the children were happy and progressed, though one of the classes had a lot of “faffing” at the start and the teacher was late one morning. In the chalet Base and Lottie were lovely, very friendly and helpful, from before arrival all the way through the holiday, really helpful with recommendations throughout the week. The food was really good and the children’s meals worked well. Favourites were the sushi, passion fruit bavarois, the cakes (especially the chocolate fudge cake and brownies). Lentil soup was delicious and the duck was really good. Favourite restaurant was Edelweiss, and La Fruitiere really good. The location of the chalet is a bit of a faff with kids but using the buses was absolutely fine.

Just to say thank you for a superb holiday last week at Chalet de Pierre! Every YSE holiday is a ‘best ever’ and this was the same. We flew from Bristol, and just not going to Gatwick (and not driving on the M25) was a massive plus. Chalet de Pierre is gorgeous, silent, warm, and comfortable. Bea and Izzy were adorable, natural, chatty and efficient. Bea’s cooking is amazing, and how she did our veggie meals was seamless as we had the same meal as everyone else, just swapping say beef cheek for a wonderful mushroom ragú, or slices of chicken for slices of roast butternut squash – all the meals were absolutely superb including the delicious tartiflette. Bea also made some gf cakes and again there was no hassle, all just beautifully done. The chalet was completely spotless too – I know everyone says this but it’s true. The Laisinant chairlift near the chalet is brilliant for starting the day at Fornet or Solaise. We hired skis and boots at Snowberry – Al especially was really good at boot-fitting. We ate out at Chez Nano. We had failed to book anywhere, but they squeezed us in and we enjoyed their rustic pizzas. All in all, another perfect YSE holiday!

Both girls were adorable and a complete delight to have around the chalet. Izzy always kept everything spotless. She was amazing and we wanted to take her home. We loved the responsiveness, knowing if anything went wrong or needed something it was changed/delivered immediately. The food was top notch. Bea is an amazing chef and was very attentive towards our gluten free friend. All the food was epic. Ate out at 1789 which is a lovely restaurant and food was great but felt claustrophobic inside. Only complaints were about the cuts of meat with the steak which were chewy. China mugs would be a nice touch in the chalet. Live channels on the tv to watch the rugby would be good, and hooks by the hot tub for towels would be handy.

Brilliant, perfect holiday. Bea and Bea made it! They both put in a lot of effort. The cooking was great, 15/10. Loved the birthday cake. All meals delicious. Various allergies were really well catered for, felt very safe. Thanks. Room on first floor at end of corridor needs something to hold the shower up. Hired skis from Precision, brakes were broken.

Absolutely lovely chalet, best we’ve ever stayed in. The girls were superb, lovely, really nice girls. We enjoyed the chicken risotto and the fish with dahl. The girls looked after them well, the chalet is lovely, the food was brilliant, and everyone totally happy and talking of booking the same chalet with the same girls next year! Bea and Bea were great. Enjoyed the chalet and location, especially hot tub and sauna! Food sometimes cold when served. Really loved the holiday, whole family super impressed!

A great holiday. Ruby was a great hostess and gave excellent advice, from the Bambou restaurant to the Tsanteleina spa. Her breakfasts were excellent and she is a brilliant chef. The dinners were all excellent, particularly the hake, the falafels, the beef, the duck and all the canapés. Ruby’s cakes were rather dry but Alex’s were much better. Restaurants – loved Bambou, Triffolet, Cascade and Dacha, plus the Kiosque in Tignes. Ski hire from Boraso which was very good. Brilliant ESF instructor Cedric Dumaz for lessons.

Sophie was amazing 10/10, so good. Chalet des Pistes a lovely chalet in a great location. One of the all time great weeks, unbelievable. The food all week was divine with good portion sizes and lots of food. We wouldn’t have wanted anything more. Duck, fresh pasta velouti and tartiflette were our favourite meals. L’Arbre de Vie restaurant was really good.

Ruby was fantastic. She works so hard, always in early to prepare. She was lovely to chat to and made a huge effort with the birthday during the week. We stayed 5 years ago and had a great chef but the food has really improved, this was a different level.

Ruby and Aislinn were fabulous and so friendly. The chalet was kept immaculately clean and the food, especially the cakes, were great. Beef cheek and hake were the favourite dishes. Bathrooms need shower head holders. Ate out at La Gourmandine – large portions of cheese, excellent. Snowberry great for ski hire, especially their pick-up service on a Sunday. BASS instructor great, really good teaching.

Ruby and Aislinn were really excellent and on the ball and they seem to love the job. The chalet girls are on a different standard to other companies, they couldn’t do enough for us. They were polite, well-trained and efficient. Food was amazing, both breakfasts and dinner. It was the best food I’ve eaten in a chalet anywhere for 40 years. Ski rental: Sport 2000 were great, really friendly, we could change skis very easily. These chalets feel quite old now, maybe they need some tlc, new lights, etc., but we had a brilliant week and would definitely stay in Pistes again as the chalet girls were so good.

Susie is really good. She’s so helpful and calm and kind. The food was absolutely amazing. She had to cater for two carnivores, two vegetarians and two children! But she did it beautifully, and we particularly enjoyed the beef cheek, the hake, the katsu curry, and all of the cakes and canapés. We love the ski in, ski out chalet. We had lots of fun at Coco’s, Petit Danois and Rosie’s. We had an excellent meal at La Luge.

Susie and Molly are great, both very accommodating! Nothing was too much trouble. Food was amazing, catered for dietary requirements really well. Portion sizes for tartiflette could be bigger. Couldn’t have been easier, great holiday in all aspects.

Susie looked after us incredibly well in the chalet. She is a lovely girl, really helpful, everything was top-notch. She’s the best chalet girl we’ve ever met. One member of the party found the mattress too firm and Susie found a topper. Food really really good. We loved it all, particularly the beef cheek, the noodle soup, all of the cakes. The chalet is in a wonderful position for skiers, with two of the most important lifts practically in your garden! It’s also pretty good for apres-ski, with the Rosa Blanche just below, the Folie Douce just above and several restaurants nearby.

Susie was great all week, and Zoe was great on the day off. Both absolutely lovely. Looked after the chalet brilliantly and are lovely company. The food was great. We were very impressed and enjoyed everything. Particular favourites were the Katsu curry and the hake. Keeping up YSE’s high standards, they kept the chalet exceptionally clean, and the food was perfect, really good. All meals were good and the cakes were excellent. One or two of the veggie options weren’t so good, tagine and the curry (sat night) had a bitter flavour. Another excellent holiday with YSE! Ski hire from Precision, really good equipment, very cheap. We enjoyed La Cave, the Barillon, Fruitière and Empreinte.

Susie was brilliant, she couldn’t do enough. Welcoming and attentive, it was a split chalet and she made that work really well. Food was really good, and there was plenty of it. Cakes were amazing! Le Hibou was ideal for a quick bite after skiing.

The firewood seems a little green at the moment, and the nosings on the stairs are a little harsh if you are in your socks. Those are the only two criticisms we can think of!

Would be good to have a big welcome drinks for all the chalets to mix. The living room is not big enough for the number of guests and needs more seating area. Whatever is the highest comment you can give to chalet staff, give that to Susie – nothing was ever too much trouble for Susie. She went the extra mile constantly and made us feel so at home. The meals were absolutely brilliant and chalet was cosy and homey feeling. We decided to stay in on Wednesday night and get takeaway but other than that we looked forward to Susie’s cooking the next day. Only suggestion we would make is that the boot room be a little larger to cater for the three chalets. Other than that a fantastic week!

Milly and Suzie were fabulous. Both went above and beyond. They kept an eye out on what we wanted which was greatly appreciated. Don’t know how Suzie made such good meals in such a small kitchen it was amazing. All meals were amazing and both hosts were great at catering to individual needs. What a great week. Susie was brilliant from the very beginning. We have been holidaying with YSE for years now and have never found a host more cheerful or helpful. Nothing was ever too much of a problem, especially with our complex dietary requirements. Only shame is we wished we had more time with Susie! Skis were hired from Ski Republic, the staff were helpful and it was good value for money. Great food – pork belly, beef cheek as well as katsu curry. Vegan/veggie menu underwhelming in comparison to the main menu. It’s nice meals, but could cook them at home. Susie did a great job as did Izzy for the day she covered. Susie kept the chalet well, presented the food beautifully and her attention to cleaning worktops, tables and her kitchen area was not lost on us.

A fabulous holiday with Emma, Chelsea and Sam. They are lovely girls (and boy), who kept the chalets spotless, were personable and helpful, and great with the children. Chelsea even had them helping her make cakes. The food was all delicious, including the brilliant vegetarian options. This is a real plus on a chalet holiday. We kept changing our minds about which chalet we were going to eat in, but we were never made to feel this was a problem. Nothing was too much trouble. Great meals out at Edelweiss, Folie Douce, GGs and Peau de Vache.

Loved the chalet. Emma is great, just brilliant. Lovely girl. Her food is superb – the hake, the pork and the tartiflette, but it was all fab. Had a lesson from Gilbert at the ESF, who was useless. Didn’t try to teach at all, and left the lesson early! They hired skis from Precision and found it very good.

Everything was excellent. El and Lizzie are lovely. The food was brilliant. Possibly no need for afternoon tea which we never made or porridge which we never ate! Loved the hake, the beef cheek, the bacon in the morning, all of the YSE wine, the fish curry and the sushi. Could not have been better. El was really good and very accommodating, and the chalet was kept very clean. As first timers, it was a great week compared to previous expectations.

Chalet food was really well prepared and presented. The cakes in particular were excellent. Hake and pork belly were the faves. Restaurant 1789 highly recommended for steak, great atmosphere and stunning food. Restaurant at the bottom of Grand Pre was great. 4th bedroom is too hot (has no window) and AC is too loud to sleep with. Raffi taxi was terrible, they did not arrive to pick up guests in Tignes.

We had such a wonderful holiday in Chalet Tapia. Solenne and Yaz produced delicious food, both in look and taste, and accommodated our various dietary needs perfectly. They organised non alcoholic drinks and mixers and kept the chalet in great order. Solenne’s introduction on whatsapp was a lovely welcome to get us excited but also proved so useful in providing rapid details of medical aid in Val for an injured thumb. The chalet was delightful, particularly the fire and sofas which were well used given the unfavourable weather! All YSE organisation and communication before, during and after our holiday have been first class. Thank you all so much.

We can’t get out our heads around just how great our trip was to Val d’Isere. Everything was super. Simply memorable: we all had a fantastic time. In particular all credit to Salenne, our wonderful chalet girl who was just amazing, & Jasmine who took over for a couple of days. They really made us welcome & comfortable. All the staff we met were truly amiable & professional. Huge thank you too to your chefs: we’ve raved about the meals during our stay to endless numbers of folk!!!!!!! Can’t get used to not having super canapés around 7pm!!!!!

Solenne was fantastic, the best chalet host ever, very flexible which we appreciated. Tapia is a lovely chalet and was always super clean. All the food was excellent: sushi, duck and beef cheek were amazing, but everything was very high quality. Ski hire – Intersport were super efficient. Great holiday, thank you. Solenne is fantastic. You should bottle her and sell her. She was perfect. Her cookery and presentation were wonderful, and she keeps the chalet immaculate. Tea was ready and inviting when we came back from the slopes. She’s lovely to talk to when we want to talk, and discreet when we don’t. The food was lovely, plentiful and perfectly cooked. We loved it all, particularly the beef and the hake. Chalet Tapia was beautiful, a nice mix between a modern and old style chalet. Restaurants – had very nice meals at the Corniche and Cascade. Ski hire from Skimium, who are excellent.

Killy Sport, good equipment but didn’t pay much attention to fitting of boots so had a few issues with their boots. In the chalet Solenne was amazing, created such a welcoming atmosphere and got well involved. Good balance between contributing to discussions and stepping back. She also had some really great recommendations and made the holiday fab. Yas did a lovely birthday celebration for us – a lovely surprise. Yas and Solenne were a great team. Food really great, portion sizes were good. Loved the mushroom stroganoff and filo pastry as vegetarian alternatives. Massive fans of the polenta canapés. The chalet is well decorated, great layout and a really fab location.

Solenne is wonderful. Such a lovely girl. She went to Les Brevieres to check our restaurant booking, and went into Matsuhita on her day off with a photo of the reservation to prove she’d made it! She went over and above at all times. Her food was all terrific, particularly the strawberry sponge, all the breakfasts, the katsu curry – everything. Loved the chalet, and we found that you can ski right back to it when there’s as much snow as there is now!

Killy Sport was good, not great, limited selection. Two of us had boot issues, but they were nice enough and helped resolve the problem. The children had lessons with New Generation. Mixed reaction – one female instructor was great and shared pictures from the lessons in a whatsapp group, the other was just ok. The chalet staff were amazing, top rating possible. Solenne was great, couldn’t have been better. The food was outrageous (in a good way!). Do not change a thing, loved all of it.

Solenne is absolutely brilliant. The best chalet girl ever, she fitted in really well with the family’s timings. The food was really good, and the standard overall was more consistent and higher than ever before. Breakfast and cakes were brilliant. The beef and the tartiflette were favourites and the Christmas dinner was just amazing. How she managed to do that for eight was incredible.

India was attentive, very professional and charming. Really excellent and obviously knows what it takes to be a good chalet girl. We’ve had lots of experiences in the past, at the end of the season, where staff have given up and are tired and the food has suffered. This wasn’t the case with India and its a credit to her and YSE that the standard was still so high. We were very interested in the way YSE’s food works now. We hadn’t quite understood the system before we came and we were so impressed by it. Everything is fresh and the standard is very high. We really thinks it works well and means that YSE holidays are the best value out there. The hake and sushi were especially delicious. You have a very impressive team. How on earth do you manage to keep such dedicated staff? Snowberry was good as expected.

They were incredibly accommodating to the needs of our two families, which span the vast age range, from a three month-old baby to a grandma, not always an easy challenge! The Tapia/YSE combo did not disappoint. The chalet is well located for shops, nightlife, restaurants (Corniche just 50m away and nice) and also pistes. It’s also well appointed especially with a decent kitchen space. The master stroke for us was putting India in charge. She is the best host we’ve ever had from 10+ chalet holidays mostly with YSE.

It’s a lovely chalet, not a bit tight as is implied on the YSE website. India is absolutely fantastic, wonderful, lovely. Her food is quite delicious, for the lactose-intolerant lady as for everyone else. The only surprise was soup as a canapé for her. Favourites included the pork belly and perfectly cooked steak. The house wines are also excellent. Great meals at Edelweiss, l’Armailly and the Corniche. We always go to Snowberry, but didn’t find them so helpful or attentive this year.

India was very entertaining, and when Izzy came in she was great too, and very funny. Everything we asked for was accommodated, and India was super helpful, and always in a good mood. The chalet was kept very nice and clean, and although not ski in ski out, it’s so close to the pistes that it doesn’t matter. India brought ginger specially to make tea when we were ill, and it shows she really cares about her job, always going above and beyond. The food was really good but massive portions for some, and leftovers it would be nice to have kept (didn’t mention to staff). A menu at the start of the week would be nice, to know what’s coming up in the week. The variation of food was great, really liked the Asian influence. The presentation was great. Favourites were the fish curry, and the steak, although we would have really liked more pasta. Overall the food was phenomenal – our first catered chalet and it was far better than previous years, and we would like to come back. Ate out at Fondue factory – fine but not amazing. It was difficult to book restaurants in this busy week. The restaurants on the Solaise side are far better than expected, with actual restaurant food. Ski rental through Snowberry, very good boots and ok skis. Disappointed that the skis were dropped off at the start of the week, but not picked up at the end. Lessons with Kim at TDC, best instructor yet, very patient and made skiing comfortable and confident, with definite skiing improvements. It was really good having an English instructor to help explain everything.

Some of the group did an off piste tour with Alpine Experience which, considering the lack of powder, was very good. Chalet host India was excellent, going above and beyond. Tammy also great, the chalet always being spotless. Liked the chalet decor and location etc. Loved all the food especially steak and chicken. Also enjoyed the house wines. Ate out at fondue factory ok but nothing special. Overall great week, can’t praise it more.

Used Mattis Sport for ski rental, excellent and very good value, a lot cheaper than snowberry. Two lessons with Tansy from Mountain Masters, very happy and would definitely use again. Chalet staff India was absolutely fantastic, efficient and chirpy, always cheerful at dinner and looked after us beautifully. She was one of our best ever YSE chalet hosts. Handled the coeliac diet really well and we were very appreciative of gluten-free efforts. All food was great with the new system as guaranteed good quality of food. The banana bread and chocolate fudge were favourite cakes. The katsu curry and beef cheek were delicious. The hake wasn’t very hot and tasted a bit rubbery. Restaurant – The Lodge, very nice, would recommend.

Chalet Tapia is beautiful and we all adore India! Gorgeous food, great conversation, we couldn’t ask for more. Given that one of our party had root canal treatment for an abscess yesterday and is still enjoying herself, that’s a huge testament to YSE. Thank you as always.

George and Lena both amazing, very fun, good energy and the chalet was kept nice and clean. Really good, very welcoming. Everything in Vieux Crêt was fab. George and Lena were totally professional but friendly. Really couldn’t fault anything. The food was amazing throughout. Loved the chicken, hake, noodle soup, ravioli starter…Loved the sausages with breakfast!

Just a quick thank you for a great week! As a group, we’ve usually rented apartments/airbnbs so this was our first true chalet experience and I’m not sure we’ll ever be able to go back! George and Lena were amazing and really made the trip great. They were really helpful with recommendations and the food was perfect. Thanks again!

Loved the chalet and had a great week. Chalet staff Alex and George were super friendly, very tidy, and helpful. We loved the afternoon tea and all the food across the week, with a particular shout out to the harissa cauliflower starter and the tartiflette, though we missed the canapés that day. Ski hire from Sport2000 – okay. Lessons with TDC were great.

A wonderful holiday, we absolutely loved George and Alex. Loved the food, including the hake, the coconut soup, beef, pork, chocolate mousse, sushi, everything was delicious. Enjoyed the sausages added to the breakfast, and the porridge was great, as was the tartiflette. Also appreciated crocs and robes for the fabulous hot tub. Restaurants – excellent meals at the Barack, great burgers at Peau de Vache, and loved Marmottes. All in all, a marvellous holiday!

We weren’t sure what to expect and we were nervous as to how everything was going to work out with bringing a baby on holiday, but it was all brilliant. We had great baby food and children’s food, and our own was delicious too. Chalet staff George and Alex were perfect.

Had a very good stay, looked after really well by Alex and George. We gave them a bit of a hard time with moving meal times around but they were very flexible about it. The food was tasty and the presentation was spectacular, especially the sushi, tartiflette and duck. Love the set up of the living area which is very social and great hang out space and a fab DVD collection. Also loved the hot tub. People on the mezzanine don’t have their own shower so have to use the showers in the various bedrooms the whole week.

George and Alex were spot on! So welcoming and accommodating, making sure to attend to our every need. Also loved how down to earth they were and offered to get things from the shops for them on their way into work. Used Snowberry for ski hire – great equipment but expensive, but we knew this was how it would be so not complaining. Ate at Le Yule for lunch, great food and rather pricey. Very cosy chalet, but found it to be really dark in spots.

George and Alex brilliant, we enjoyed skiing and socialising with them. Food all delicious and loved the cakes. Used the hot tub and sauna lots.

Ski Republic for ski rental. The skis and snowboards were old and dated, had to return because of broken parts. You get what you pay for. BASS were great instructors, and the children especially loved them. Only problem was finding them on the first morning – they need a sign and to be more clear in emails of the exact meeting point location. Used Mountain Masters for snowboarding lessons – great job. Chalet staff Jen and Rachel were so nice. They really made us feel at home, we cannot believe what a good job they did. All food was was amazing. The tartiflette was great on the Friday. Victoria sponge and banana cake both fantastic. Went to le Garage on Wednesday and had a wonderful evening, the food was great. Also Crazy Barmes was a great lunch spot when back in town with the kids after lessons. Arctic Juices were a fabulous mention by the chalet girls. All in all had a fabulous week – we would love to return to YSE next year.

All staff were fantastic, very easy going and charming! Super accommodating, welcoming and great with kids. Food was superb. Banana tarte tatin was heavenly! Fish starter was the best and beef cheek the favourite main. All so good. LouLou’s is stunning, v expensive but gorgeous! Phillippe and Adrian from Mountain Masters were fantastic.

It was our first time in Val d’Isere, and we absolutely loved it. The chalet is great. Jen and Rachel were fabulous. They kept the chalet immaculate and we were really impressed by the food. It was amazing, particularly the hake and the tartiflette. The exit breakfast was epic! We had a great meal at the Luge, with fondue and raclette, and a lovely lunch at Edelweiss. We will be back!

Rachel and Jen were lovely and looked after us very well. All of the food was delicious and the presentation beautiful, particularly the smoked haddock ravioli, the fishcakes and all the cakes, which were the best we had ever had on holiday. The chalet was kept beautifully clean. Hired equipment from Snowberry, as did most people this week, very happy with skis.

Jen and Rachel were brilliant all week. They work hard and were really friendly. We really enjoyed the food with the pork and beef being highlights, and the cakes were amazing. But all good. Enjoyed the house wines but they weren’t outstanding. We really liked the chalet. Huge thanks to Jen and Rachel! It was great to have the Bluetooth set up on the speakers.

Rachel and Jess were great, both chatty and friendly. The chalet was kept very clean and well presented. Breakfasts were really good, and the dinners got better throughout the week. Prefer the more traditional food on the menu. Rachel’s cakes were all far too good! One lesson with Ella from BASS, she was great.

Precision Ski for ski hire – extremely happy with the quality of skis and how easy it was to hire. Inter sport allow you to leave skis in town – more expensive but the convenience made up for the price. Evolution2 for ski lessons, really good, highly recommended. Went to Val Crepe every day, loved it that much. In the chalet both Jess and Rachel were great entertainment and amazing with the baby, baby food was also prepared perfectly. Food was amazing and chalet was clean. Girls bounced well off each other very well. Steak was the favourite. The walk up to the chalet is awful and needs to be gritted regularly.
