Moutiers Landslide

The rockfall on Saturday 1 February  happened at around 11 in the morning, when the roads were saturated. It took several hours to set up a contraflow through the tunnel, and due to the amount of traffic (and an accident) it was then very slow.  On Sunday morning our 7.30 departures were not delayed at all. However the 10.00 bus sat in a queue for nearly two hours. Our coaches from Geneva avoided the traffic jam before Moûtiers by taking back roads that only they knew about, and did the journey in less than four hours. The roads around Moutiers are scheduled to re-open overnight on Friday 7 February and the morning of Saturday 8 February.
