Today’s Photo

Every weekday during winter, and occasionally the rest of the year

22 April 2024

YSE Val d'Isère, 22 April 2024

After a week of snow we’re now enjoying… more snow! With -6º in the village and -16º up high. Lovely! Still, at least the powder is excellent.

But why is there a group of men on the roof of the Vallon bubble? One seems to be using a leaf blower to remove the snow, which might seem a tad optimistic in a blizzard…

It’s because they have started dismantling the rickety old bubble to replace it with the brand new, high-speed, luxury cable car, which will whisk us up to the Col de l’Iseran in no time next December.

Anyway, for the moment, everything is open on the Pisaillas. To get up there you just take the Solaise cable car, the Glacier chairlift, the Up-and-Over, the Col button, the Cascade chair and the Montet T-bar.

Roll on December!
